Blue Bloods had a very successful and long run on CBS, all the more impressive because the series aired late on Friday nights, when viewership is often quite low. That beloved series has ended but one of the show’s main characters is back in his own show, Boston Blue. Will this spin-off also have a long run or, quickly run out of gas without the rest of the Reagan clan? Will Boston Blue be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A police procedural series, the Boston Blue TV show was developed by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis. A spin-off of Blue Bloods, the series stars Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, Gloria Reuben, Marcus Scribner, and Mika Amonsen. Bridget Moynahan guests. In the story, Danny Reagan (Wahlberg) leaves NYC and takes a position with the Boston Police Department. He’s paired with detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. The Silver family also includes Boston district attorney Mae Silver (Reuben), police superintendent Sarah Silver (Lawson), rookie cop Jonah Silver (Scribner), and renowned Baptist pastor Reverend Edwin Peters (Hudson). As Reagan settles into his new city, he hopes to reconnect with his younger son, Sean (Amonsen), who is beginning his own career in Boston.
Nielsen Ratings
The Nielsen ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart is updated as new ratings data becomes available.
11/26 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.

What do you think? Do you like the Boston Blue TV series on CBS? Are you glad it has been renewed for a second season?

This show was terrible. Bad acting terrible script some acted like they were reading from cue cards. Would have been better to just make the show that Danny joins the Boston PD an then your different characters on the force and personal. Shouldn’t try to copy the Regan family they are one of a kind.
I like it !
I like the series so far .
I love Donnie Wahlberg ( NKOTB )
I think he is a sexy man , and a very good actor his role in blue bloods with Tom ( mr.selleck) was fantastic and i believe that he will do well in this one too ( Bosten Blue ) I mean come on its Danny Regan …..
My wife and I loved Blue Bloods. We watch the first episode of Boston Blue. Will try another Episode But, as of now We Don’t think We will keep watching it. It doesn’t compare to Blue Bloods.
I loved the first episode…I really want to see this show happen! Lets give it a chance!.
Donnie I’m wishing you the best ..I am watching! Go Boston Blue!!!!
I was not impressed, basically because the supporting cast didn’t click. If they don’t click from the first episode it won’t make it.
…..and that same cast didn’t click in episode 2. And since when are two rookie cops allowed to partner —anywhere>
Did not like Boston Blue. The characters are not like Blue Bloods. Sorry not interested in the characters on Boston Blue.
Where is Jamie and Eddie.
I enjoyed it !
Show was terrible. To much running around thought Poor Donnie was going to have a heart attack. No concept.looked to Fony
Boston Blue first episode was amazing I love it I can’t wait to see more. Looking forward to Friday nights again.
Not too bad was kinda hard to keep up with how everybody was related. Was great to see Erin the picture and would even be nicer if she ended up some how in Boston too. Glad to see Maria also. It will take me a couple of shows to see if I can get into it,but I think it could have a chance. We all know that nothing can take the place of Blue Bloods though I give Donny a big thumps up for doing this show. We need decent shows on tv now more then ever.
Needed a score card to see how everyone was related. Will give it awhile to see how cast gels.
This show is awful great to seen Donnie as Danny but this is not a good show it is obviously not really shot in Boston looks motor like Canada to me the show is not even close to blue bloods and it was never meant to be a blue bloods spin off it was doctored to be that and its awful
It was interesting how they started it out and of course loved that Erin was in it and showed Maria I think that maybe it will be interesting to watch too early to tell yet but it definitly was worth watching and to give it a chance. At least we have something good to watch again on Fri. night.
GREAT NEW SHOW WITH THE FAMILY TOUCH LIKE BLUE BLOODS . BUT THE DIFFERENCE THAT BOSTON CREATES. ANNA
I love Boston Blue and the characters. Hopefully Tom Selleck will make a guest appearance as a Consultant during a high profile investigation. Can’t wait to see how the writers dig in deep. Also, depict some real life cases. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Sorry. In attempt to please everyone it pleased nary a soul. Plus, when the story line is shallow, throw in three foot races to fill the time.
