Are you watching Boy Band? Recently, ABC boss Channing Dungey addressed the uncertain future of the TV show, AdWeek reports.
Hosted by Rita Ora, the competitive reality show features still-undiscovered singers facing off to become part of the next music phenomenon. The judges include Tim Mosley (a.k.a. Timbaland), Nick Carter, and Emma Bunton.
Boy Band premiered back in June to disappointing ratings and things have not improved of the course of the summer. So far, season one is averaging a .56 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 2.535 million viewers, making it one of ABC’s lowest-rated series for the summer 2017 season.
During this summer’s TCA press conference, Dungey admitted Boy Band has been a disappointment for ABC:
Boy Band was a creative swing for us that we were excited to explore. …It didn’t connect with audiences in quite the way we’d hoped.”
It’s still unclear if ABC will renew Boy Band or cancel the freshman series. But with American Idol coming, it seems unlikely the show will continue. What do you think? Are you a fan of Boy Band? Would you watch a second season?

No I would not watch season 2, I didn’t even finish dead in 1.
This show has potential, but needs to be reworked.
Get rid of Rita Ora, Nick Carter, and Emma. Too fake.
The show would benefit from being more gritty and more real. It was too bubble gum.
The choreography was not good. Tim Davis is not engaging enough.
En Vogue was the BEST thing all season.

No, would not watch again. Two of the boys not chosen were never in the bottom and out sung most of the competition. 4 whites and 1 latino. Both Black kids were iced out. No one in that competition , not even the ‘architects’ could come close to singing anywhere near the range of Justin, Jaden? The boy with the gospel background. He was a frontrunner every week, then…that happened. Rigged! I hope someone picks him up and he explodes!
No would not watch it. its for a certain age group. American Idol. and America’s Got Talent are to much competition, and better shows.
