A&E has cancelled their crime drama, Breakout Kings after two seasons and 23 episodes. It seems this case is closed.
Breakout Kings follows a squad of U.S. Marshals who make special deals with prisoners to catch escaped convicts. The cast includes Laz Alonso, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Malcolm Goodwin, Serinda Swan, and Jimmi Simpson.
The series debuted in March 2011 to a 1.2 rating in the demo with 2.8 million viewers. The ratings declined in later weeks and the first season finale drew a 0.8 rating with 2.01 million.

In March 2012, the second season debuted with a 0.8 rating with 2.11 million. In that episode, many viewers were shocked to see Alonso’s lead character Charlie abruptly killed off. Alonso later told fans that leaving the show was not his idea.
Over the course of season two, the ratings for Breakout Kings further declined, hitting a low of a 0.5 rating with 1.27 million. The finale aired last month and A&E has decided they don’t want a third season.
Of the cancellation, Malcolm Goodwin (Shea on the series) tweeted, “So Breakout Kings is canceled. Thx to all 4 the luv & support over the last 2 seasons! It’s been a fun experience! Much luv! On to the next.”
The news comes soon after co-creator Matt Olmstead was signed to run NBC’s new fireman drama, Chicago Fire.

I watched both seasons and enjoyed a lot, I think Charlie’s death made me even more curious about what would happen next. It’s really said there isn’t going to be a third season, cause the cliffhanger of season 2 was just as good as the one from season 1. Now I’ll never know what happens with Zancanelli.
I just watched both seasons on Netflix, I was loving it, and now I will never know what happens with Zankinelly! Seriously disappointed!
I just watched two seasons of Breakout Kins on Netflix and LOVED the show. I am so VERY dissapointed that this was not continued!!!!!
Bring Breakout Kings back I love that show. I have watched both seasons 3 times already. We need new seasons and episodes.
Come on man, this a good seriesand their no reason to leave us on suspense! Reconsider in putting season 3 or at least to finish the series completely. I was looking forward to season 3!
They want people to be invested and watch the shows but then they always pull this c+ap. You want to cancel the show fine but at least do it with actually ending the site and not a major cliffhanger that just sucks. They want to know why people give up it’s cause they pull this stuff and leave everyone hanging.
I am so mad that they cancelled Breakout Kings I love that show I was waiting for jules and Lloyd to get together. And what happens to Ray does he keep his job or does he get sold out?

Idiots!!!!! It goes to netflix, you binge watch the whole show and then you’re left hanging???….. Why are tv execs so freaking stupid??? This show was fantastic!!! It’s no wonder why so many people are leaving money grubbing, greedy ass tv, and those idiot shows that go on forever…cutting their cable and then going over to netflix….God Bless Netflix!!!
I really enjoyed the Breakout Kings. I realized it wasn’t returning for#3. Come on People! What KIND OF STUFF IS THS!!! I think U Can DO A LITTLE BETTER with YOUR SERIE. This not Fair. Could also had Better Ending. Another thing u killed Charlie OFF. Wow!! That Was CRAZY Bring! It Back

Are you serious??Great show with an absolute cliffhanger at the end of Season 2. had I known there was to be no Season 3 I wouldn’t have watched it all. Not right to be left hanging like this BRING IT BACK!!!

I was disappointed when Alonzo was killed. Totally unexpected but I continued watching because I enjoy the other characters as well. I am very upset that there is no season 3. Season 2 ending with a cliffhanger is not cool at all.
This show needs to continue. There are very few good shows like this left. The lead character getting killed was unexpected so early on, but the writers had a way of keeping us entertained. Didntheybrin outnof ideas or did someone get a better offer to start another show, whatever the case 2 seasons is not enough to judge if a show is going to make. Well “Breakout Kings” looked like it had definite possibilities, but as usual it seems intelligent television has no place in todays’ market and was cancelled. I’m glad I usually read several reviews before starting a series. From what I’ve read the writers decided to kill off an integral character at the beginning of season 2 which on most occasions leads to a knee-jerk drop in ratings. I don’t understand the logic behind such moves, but usually there’s an issue with one of the actors, writers, and so forth. A&E screwed up letting the show end. And that goes double for letting Alonsos character die.
