Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

Oh, my yes!!!!! This is my favorite show on tv. It has stolen my heart, I look forward to it each Sunday. The writing, directing, actors etc, all work together & create this loving town of Hope Valley. I have purchased all seasons do far, look forward to Season 5, & will buying season 4 when it is available on Fishflix. Thankfully I like many other Hearties, have DVR’D this season. I will rewatch all seasons until we get the new season!! WCTH is no #1. Thank you Hallmark! !!

This is the beat programming on TV! Please do not change a thing,and thank you for interesting characters,especially Paul Greene. Your stories are such the entire family can watch, stories are very gripping and Christian. We love it here and would miss it terribly. The stories, the characters, best ever.
