Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

Yes to a season 5. This is such a good show and you can let your kids watch without worry, unlike most TV programs. I’m 56 and I love it!
Yes, there does need to be a season Five. I just happened to watch the Christmas show of when calls the heart and was immediately wanting more. I for some reason didn’t know that there had been three seasons already, got on Netflix, and watched the first three seasons, while recording the fourth, that was on hallmark. I now own the first three season. Can’t wait for season four to own it, and would very much like there to be a season five, and for hallmark to renew it. PLEASE!!
It should definitely be renewed. I can’t wait until the next season. I think it is a very moving and touching series. I definitely hope that Jack is back next season because the show is missing something without the interaction between Elizabeth and Jack. The development and depth of the characters is exceptional. I am a Heartie and I am looking forward to the next season. RENEW!!!
Most definitely bring season five, six etc…..I could watch this show over and over…if we all could live like this……can’t wait for the next season…. shouldn’t even be a question
Yes it should be renewed ..there are not many family oriented tv programs that kids should watch anymore … my grandkids love this show and it teaches them that good values in life will always win … it would be ashame not to let the series continue and of course we all want to see how it plays out… great show

Absolutely bring it back. It’s the BEST series on tv BUT YOU MUST bring Jack back!!!!!! The chemistry between Elizabeth and Jack is so heart warming and I miss that on the show.

I enjoy the show. It is a good family show that I never have to worry about censoring for family. I hope it will be renewed.
