CBS has ordered a new comedy pilot from The Odd Couple and Modern Family‘s Dan O’Shannon and Robyn Butler, with Wayne Hope.
Butler and Hope created Australian Upper Middle Bogan TV series, upon which this new pilot is based.

The untitled Butler/Hope/O’Shannon hybrid comedy, originally developed as single-camera, was written by Modern Family alum Dan O’Shannon and the creators of the original Australian comedy, Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope.
The extended family show is about a wife and mother who learns she was adopted and that her birth parents are a flamboyant but loving family of drag-racers. O’Shannon, Butler and Hope executive produce with Todd Holland. CBS Studios, where O’Shannon is under an overall deal, co-produces with ABC Studios and studio-based Dark Toy Entertainment.
The original series, which is single-camera, debuted on Australia’s ABC in 2013.
