Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I believe that there should be a Seaaon 4. Olivia was great! However she seemed to be giving everyone else advice and not following through herself! Her and Jack were great as a couple. I believe that she needs to forgive Jack….help him….. And really support him. Most people know that it is indeed a show but we need to see something positive that we can apply to our own relationship and how to really survive the storms we face in relationships.
I just banged watched Seasons 1-3…absolutely love the show. So sad to just read that the show has been cancelled. Not cool at all. 🙁

I would have liked to have had the story lines resolved, if Hallmark planned to end the series. Series that simply stop are quite unsatisfying.
Why, Why, Why, do all the good shows get cancelled. We want this show back, and put more shows like this one on, and also put them on Netflix.

Please bring back Cedar Cove I loved it and took out a special cable deal to get Halllmark just to watch Cedar Cove.

I’ve been patiently waiting for the 2016 season of Cedar Cove. The story line was good and the scenery was beautiful. Hopefully, Hallmark will re-consider and bring the series back. Or how about some Cedar Cove Hallmark movies?

My family really enjoyed this show. I appreciated that it was a wholesome – no violence, sex, drugs. I’m sad to hear it has been cancelled.
