Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

We LOVED Cedar Cove! and are so disappointed that is has been canceled. We were looking forward to Season 4 this summer. Please bring it back!!!
Bring back Cedar Cove loved the characters and looked forward to the show each week.
We are very disappointed in the decision to cancel this well scripted and family oriented series. Hallmark has demonstrated a lack of respect for its viewers by not completing this project’s story line.
I loved the show Cedar Cove. It’s was a great show nice story I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m upset it will no longer be on TV
Well at least give us some closure! Air one more show and provide closure to all the loyal viewers. We deserve it!
I too am so disappointed that Cedar Cove will not put out a season 4!!!
Please bring the series back and at least give us an ending in Season 4. Would really love to have it continue longer. I was really looking forward to its return. It’s better than some of the other/newer shows Hallmark is now airing. One of my favorite shows on TV.
I hope Cedar Cove gets a movie to tie up the story. I will miss it.
I loved the show. Looked forward to each episode. Beautifully scripted, filmed and story. Jack and Olivia? Paul? What about Luke? Unanswered questions. Yes – please reconsider a Season 4. No conclusion. Shame on you!
I absolutely loved Cedar Cove. I truly believe it should not be cancelled. There are so little enjoyable shows on TV. Also, it is not completed. Leaving everyone with no ending.
Please please bring back the series I just loved the series. I will so miss the characters the were excellent!!!!!! I loved it.
I simply can not believe this series has been cancelled. Loved the characters, writing, scenery. There are so many other things on your lineup that deserve to be cancelled, but not this series!! You’ve let me down Hallmark. I may have to stop viewing your channel in my own private protest.
Cedar Cove was a great TV series. In my opinion, it should not have been cancelled. Hallmark shows are always enjoyable but I really feel if a story begins with continuation, it should be completed. The TV version of Cedar Cove should have condensed all books to where there could have been a conclusion, not leave those vested in the TV version hanging. Actors are superb. I wish the story could have continued.
If the network decided not to bring back Cedar Cove, please make a mini series movie to finish it up, I have read all the books and loved that show. Also love the Good Witch series.
i so wish they would do a 4th season, we all want to see her and paul hooked up
