Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

What are you doing to me? I have been waiting for season 4 and prayed it started soon. TV is such a bore in the summer and Cedar Cove was my saving grace. Are you kidding me Hallmark, I may never buy your cards again!!!
Well said!!
I loved this fun, clean and entertaining show. Would love to know what happens to all the characters! Could there at least be a special that could tie up loose ends?
I am SO EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that this show was canceled. My son and I have watched AND LOVED every episode. I kept looking to see when season 4 would begin. Finding out that there would be no more is heartbreaking. It was one of the best series on tv. I certainly hope Hallmark will reconsider and continue this heartwarming series. Thank you.

I am so disappointed that Cedar Cove has been canceled. You should have wrapped it up rather than leave us hanging.
Another responder mentioned that the movies, while always good and clean entertainment, are very predictable, with pretty much the same story line.
I just found out Ceder Cove was cancelled and I’m very irritated by this decision. It never fails we the public find a program or series we very much enjoy just to have it cancelled with no thoughts of how much it we enjoyed it. I have several friends who enjoyed watching as well….but hey, who cares right. 🙁
Cedar Cove deserved a fourth season, which would have answered all the unanswered questions left from the third season’s finale.
Love Cedar Cove! Please bring it back?
Sorry to hear the series were cancelled. I loved the show. I can’t believe you didn’t at least give the series an ending for closure. Wonderful cast and stories.
I must agree with most of the previous comments. This was a wonderful series, and as faithful followers, we deserve at least a final ending – perhaps just a 2 hour special for closure.
Please go to change.org sign the petition to bring back cedar cove
If your going to end a series please have a ending episode. Better yet keep it on its a better show compared to you very predictable shows.
I love Cedar Cove! I fell in love with all the Cedar Cove books that Debbie M. wrote. Viewers, read the books!!
Hallmark you need to wrap things up for the viewers. I will miss seeing all my favorite characters come to life. I love where the town is filmed! Makes me want to go there….
I loved cedar cove. It’s a well written wholesome story line. No cursing. It had people with morals, which is what’s wrong with society today. Andie grew up in the county next to mine. I’m always proud to see when someone comes from a small town and make it big. Hers was a strong and morally written character. Thanks for having a military outlook on showing how people cone together to help them. Don’t have that in tv much lately. Beautiful scenery too. Got me through some sad times. Wish you could bring it back. Maybe do a finale movie… Read more »
Dear Hallmark, I realize that television is a business and difficult decisions have to be made. Overall I love the hallmark programming and watch often, a lot of times watching things more than once. However, please consider the fans of shows!! I loved cedar cove and to end the show without proper closure is not ok!!! While I would prefer that the show resume and come back for its fourth season, if that is impossible could you please consider having a special installment to wrap things up? When you start a new show you so hoping that people will become… Read more »
Seriously? Every time something worth watching is on, it gets canceled, how about a farewell episode at least! Don’t us loyal ones deserve that much? I loved cedar cove, the storyline, and the characters!
Please bring back Cedar Cove!!!. Loved the characters, the story line, the beauty of the small town and the people. I looked forward to each show. You left us hanging without an ending. Not fair. This was one of my favorite shows on Hallmark.
