Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I just started watching this on Netflix and was so excited to see something that I really enjoyed. Then I went on line to find out when season 4 would be out. I was so upset to find out it cancelled. I wish this was NOT the case. Good shows with good substance that teach a lesson just so hard to find nowadays. I really wish you would bring this back on TV.
Hallmark, I am sure the Netflix views will change the rating stats in a positive way. Also, Cedar Cove came on in the Northeast during the summer on Sunday nights which is a terrible time slot. When the ratings started to slip why didn’t you try a different day and time slot? We realize Andie was offered more money on a different project, surely the strong story lines, the fabulous acting and the stunning scenery would have survived with another actor. Hallmark, please reconsider.

Very disappointed Cedar Cove won’t be coming back! I would really like some closure on the characters and their stories. It was a very clean, family appropriate show -hard to find these days!
I was SO disappointed to hear this show was canceled! I just recently found it on Netflix & have finished all 3 seasons. So sad for this Debbie Macomber series 🙁 I thought Hallmark should’ve at least had 1 more episode to give us all some closure, bad move on their part!
What book can we read to find out what happens to the dear people of Cedar Cove? Can’t leave us all hanging!
There is a whole series of books by Debbie Macomber. But they are a little different than the TV series…
I would have loved to watch a season 4 to have closure of this wonderful series. I don’t think Hallmark should have cancelled the series like this. It was a great, clean series and I enjoyed it a lot. Hope they will reconsider having one more season.
What a disappointment not to have a last season on Cedar Cove… It was such a great storyline and the characters were so amazing . This was the only show I was looking forward to seeing this fall. Please reconsider having one last season for all of us who want closure with such interesting storylines

You bet I wanted to see the 4th season and so did my husband! I thought I’d lost my mind!. I just can’t believe HALLMARK would do this. Also, I live in KANSAS CITY, MO where the corp HQ is!!!!! Very, very disappointed that the famous Hallmark Channel, who is one of the few stations who has clean, family entertainment, would choose to do this. I don’t have to watch: violence, sex or hear filthy language. I agree wholeheartedly. I didn’t discover it till only recently. I’ve watched it entirely on Netflix streaming seasons 1, 2 and 3. And I hoped I could look forward to a fourth season. I was dying to know what happens with Olivia and Jack especially. Cedar Cove captured my heart. I do not understand why Hallmark would cancel this good and beautifully written show! I’m so disappointed. Why would they leave us with so many questions unanswered, and with no intention of continuing ??? Don’t they realize that millions of people want to know what happens next. Really upset there is not a season 4. Which book would finish the ending. It said it was based after a book series. It’s just not right there is no final episode. I am left feeling a part of my life is unfinished!! :(. Makes me feel like never watching a series again, EVER!!!

Please bring back Cedar Cove! It’s one of the Best shows on TV! Hallmark, this is a show that really will bring up your stations ratings! I watched every episode in all 3 seasons! Hopefully Netflix can somehow get a Season 4 so that we’re all NOT left hanging! That’s cruel…. please bring it back!
Yes, would love for Cedar Cove to return. I miss the show a lot. Is it possible another network might pick it up? Please try and bring it back. A 1M+ plus viewers is nothing to laugh at. Pleas bring back the show with original cast.
I was SO DISAPPOINTED when I heard they were cancelling Cedar Cove. There are so many shows on so many different channels now, and this is one show that I ALWAYS enjoyed watching. 1.6 million people is NO REASON to take the show off the air. There are PLENTY of people that would continue to watch the Hallmark channel if they brought back Cedar Cove. Bring it BACK!
I am very DISAPPOINTED !!!! My husband and I were looking forward to season 4. I hope that you don’t do something silly like this again and upset so many people who look forward to coming back and watching something pleasant on TV. The Hallmark channel is one channel that we enjoy watching. Please think about what your viewers are telling you. I have seen many time big channels just disappear because they got to big for their britches. Take care
