Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
Please bring cedar cove back. It is very nice to see a show very close to reality. You dont get that very often these days. We laugh, we cry and fell in love with the storyline. Please continue.
Yes, it should return. I have never liked hanging in the air.
Yes, it should return!
I agree with Sherri. My mom and I just finished Season 3 (we purchased the DVDs) and can’t believe there is no Season 4. At the very least a final episode for the fans please.
Sherri’s comments: How awful to end the show like this and not tie up loose ends. I just invested a lot of my time, and thoroughly enjoyed, this wonderful series. To have it end abruptly, and get no answers as to relationship statuses, etc., is awful. They could have at least done an hour special final episode for the fans. Not appreciated.
Please put Cedar Cove back on.Dont leave us hanging like other TV shows do……
I really loved watching Cedar Cove and Hope it continues!! I don’t think season 4 should be cancelled. We will miss you.
Wishing the actors and actresses great success in life.
This is show is a great show plz consider bring it back to hallmark
I not think they should cancelled. It a great show.
Great show. I loved the small town twist and the judge. I was very sad that there was not a season 4, which made for a sad ending or closure to the story. All of the actors and actresses were fabulous and contributed to real life issues. This was show that most people could relate to. Jack and Olivia made the show and played do many life touching parts. I pray it will come back.
Please bring back Cedar Cove. One of the few decent shows on tv, no profanity, good stories, great cast, espec Andie, Bruce, and Dylan. These are people I grew up with, all of us a certain age. To end the show the way Hallmark and the producers did was just plain mean. Their numbers were quite respectable for a third season. I am sick of most of what there is to see on Network tv, the big boys, nbc, abc, cbs, and the rest, lots of dung, lots of useless, ridiculous violence. I’m just sick of it.
Bring back cedar cove and it’s entire cast.

I loved this show. Saw every episode. It was a great, peaceful, non violent hour i enjoyed. To much trash coming out of those crazies in Hollywood. I find it hard to believe that ratings for some of the garbage on tv were higher than Cedar Cove. And they are still on tv. Sad state of affairs.
I really am dismayed and distressed that you would cancel a show that showed people at their worst and their best. I looked forward to the next series, and can’t understand your attitude. I don’t watch much tv but that show grabbed me by the heart. Shame on you for allowing misguided ratings that made you be so blind. Not all of us want to see blood and guts. Some of us would like to see a side of people that is a little closer to reality. Be fair. I think there is more to just cancelling the show than… Read more »
