NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

We loved that show. Bring it back!!!!!!!!
Great show! Always look forward to watching it. The networks never give these shows enough time. Maybe one of the cable channels would be better place for Chase.
I can’t believe they’re cancelling this show. I love it and the writing is simple and interesting. They’re replacing it with all this trash reality. I can’t believe that’s what America wants to watch. Bring Back CHASE!!!!!
We love the show. Please bring it back. You stop all the great shows. Get rid of the show and we will stop watching this network. We do not want Minute to Win It.
Chase is definitely a great show. It is unique, entertaining and eye-catching. I have introduced a few friends to the show and they have the same thoughts. On a regular show a person usually knows how an episode is going to end but not this one! It’s always taking turns and the suspense never ends!
Keep the show!
PS. Only one thing. When necessary, please cast Spanish speaking actors that can actually pull it off. The Spanish has been very poor especially in the episode where Annie was kidnapped and taken to Mexico.
Thanks.
Leave Chase alone, period!! I watch this show on hulu.com and loving it, LEAVE IT ALONE!!!
Are you serious, is Chase really cancelled? I’m so tired of NBC doing this, Life, the Black Donnelys, now Chase, I work in Dallas and just saw them filming and episode a few weeks ago, come on NBC, dig your head out!
I hate stupid game shows with real life idiots. I want an escape when I watch TV, and Chase definitely provided that. Yeah it was kind of another “cops and robbers” type show but Annie was a fascinating character. Don’t cancel it, NBC dudes!
I love the show. Wish it was still on!
I think Chase is a great show … the cast is great …and the show always leaves the watcher wondering to what extremes the heroin will push herself in the next episode!!! I believe the networks are going to too much REALITY in their lineups. I don’t want to see reality … I want to be entertained by quality shows that appeal to people who have a BRAIN in their heads. I believe we, who think, are being abandoned. CBS, at least, hasn’t gone that route … and they are being rewarded with their nighttime ratings. Please give me more… Read more »
