NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

YOU PUT THE SHOW ON FOR THE END OF THE YEAR AND THEN THE BREAK CAME JUST AS EVERYONE I KNOW CAUGHT ON TO THE GREAT QUALITY OF A SHOW THAT CHASE IS. THE BREAK ENDED AND THE SHOW CAME BACK ON A DIFFERENT NIGHT WITHOUT ANY NOTICE SO I MISSED IT AND WAS LEFT HANGING. DO NOT CANCEL THE SHOW BECAUSE IT WILL BE A MISTAKE. WE ALL NEED A QUALITY LIGHT DRAMA TO ESCAPE TO AMONGST ALL OF THE REALITY/CELEBRITY/COMPETITION STATIC THAT IS BOMBARDING TELEVISION LATELY.
Im a cop in Harris County where the show takes place and I love this show. Yeah some of it can be far streatched or a little hokie but it kept me entertained. Is that not what TV should do for its viewers entertain them. I hope NBC can find a new way to target its audience and keep Chase running!!
Chase is a great show. I hate when networks bring in shows and cancel them part way through a season without a real ending. Whats the point in starting something if your not going to finish it. Do you think maybe thats why new shows dont get a whole lot of viewers, because everyone knows it will get cancelled so why get into something when your not going to be able to finish it. Please bring back CHASE. i love that show. It gets very tiresome to invest time into shows that get cancelled. It is about the only NEW show that I really enjoyed this season. Please NBC, don’t cancel CHASE!!!

i loved the show it was great i think it didn’t catch on b/c it was competing with long time loved shows at first then it changed it’s time and turn comsumers off to it ,then they stoped showing it for like two weeks another mistake, the scipt doesn’t need to change just when its played it should have started off on wed or thurs at 8:00 central time i hope it comes back (i keep looking for it but …). the script is different and well written
Enough with the idiotic game shows! Chase was (is) a good show with believable characters and decent storylines. Dump “Minute to Win it” and put Annie Frost back on the schedule NOW!!

Totally under rate…, Chase is a GREAT show! !!!!!! I really think that people just don’t know about it?! I hate to see it go and think NBC is making a mistake!
I dont think you gave the show a chance. I enjoyed the show. Do you ever count the amount of people who DVR shows. I watched Hawii five o and then DVR chase. Each week I alternated because I liked both shows and they showed on the same day at the same time. Take of the reality shows and put back the real shows!!!

Bring back Chase. It was one of the best new shows this year. Game shows are ok…but enough already…the same with reality shows. This show had good stories and a great cast. Listen to your viewers and BRING BACK CHASE!
