The network giveth and the network taketh away.
Even though the Chase series performed poorly right from the start, NBC gave the TV show a full season order of 22 episodes. Now, the peacock network has trimmed back that order to just 18 installments.
On the positive side, NBC is moving Chase out of the Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It’ll no longer have to battle against Castle and the new Hawaii Five-0. Unfortunately, beginning January 12th, it’ll be airing in a far more competitive timeslot. Chase is moving to Wednesdays at 9pm where it’ll do battle with American Idol.
The most recent episode of Chase garnered a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.03 million total viewers. That’s the second significant increase in two weeks but the series is still doing terribly and is consistently in a distant third place for the timeslot.
Chase has averaged a 1.6 rating for the season, just slightly better than now-cancelled Undercovers. Unless there’s a significant turnaround, it’s pretty clear that Chase will be cancelled at the end of the season.
What do you think? Does Chase still have a chance to be renewed for season two or is it already doomed to be cancelled?

Chase was a really good show. The characters were really good. NBC lets it go a few episodes and about the time we get into it we get holiday reruns then they move it a week or so and cancel it. Hardly a real opportunity for the show to build an audience. This is a real loss especially being replaced by a moronic game show. Law and Order is all NBC has that I now care about. This network really needs to learn how to promote it’s good shows.
our family loves chase, come every time we like a show you cancel, no
Nice to have a good drama on, just getting tired of the rash of so called reality shows.
This is a good show, it fits in with the more mature audience, so why take it away and keep shows that are brain mashers.
I really enjoy this show. I have been looking for it every wednesday and did not know it was cancelled. My goodness NBC need to get it together. There are too many reality shows on, this was good tv for a change.
There are a bunch of idiots running NBC. How do they expect any show trying to get off the ground to be able to do it when they run it opposite American Idol and Survivor? I could do a much better job. Just when one of their shows starts to pick up steam they move and and it takes 2 or 3 weeks for people to know where it went and by then it’s dropped half its audience. Chase is one of the best new shows on tv….if you can keep finding it!
To bad, everytime NBC gets a really good show…they cancel it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t believe, they cancelled this show…It is a winner, for NBC There, are only 3 programs worth watching CHASE, BLUE BLOOD and HAWAII FIVE O….I would rather watch the same old reruns, of old sitcoms over and over than watch the stupid reality shows. and game shows
I really enjoyed this show an always looked forward to it every week. Please don’t cancel this show.
I really really like CHASE!! Please do not cancel the show. Just as others say, try to put on at a different time and place. Wonderful actors
I really hope all the news about them canceling this show turns out to be false. I love the characters in this show and have enjoyed it from the start.
I enjoy the show very much. It doesn’t matter when NBC plays it, I always record it. Please keep it going! DO NOT CANCEL!
My husband and I also enjoy watching the show. It’s something new to revive us from all the stupid reality game shows and American Idol is getting old already!! Please don’t cancel it, its the only thing I look forward to on Wednesday nights now!!
Chase had the best storyline on any drama that I have seen in decades. They need to give it another chance, maybe on Friday. It would be an injustice to take it off.
My husband and I both really enjoy this program. Please do not cancel it. There’s so very little
worth watching lately. This program was pretty good.
NBC usually carries very few programs that I would even consider watching. Chase was a good show. There are only a few shows worth watching these days. We enjoyed Chase. A big boo….from my family
I agree with Patricia’s family I give NBC a big Boo as well. NBC keeps canceling the show I like to watch so I’m no really interested in there channel or if I can get it. Its like you set up your shows with potential in bad time slots so they never get a good viewing by the general public. I found them on hulu and enjoyed following the series till it up and disappeared from the site.
