Could this be a sign that the show is being brought to a conclusion? Possibly but, Hallmark has also announced their plans for a spin-off movie.
Season four of Chesapeake Shores will debut this summer. Here’s the press release:
HALLMARK CHANNEL GREENLIGHTS FOURTH SEASON OF HIT SERIES ‘CHESAPEAKE SHORES’
“Chesapeake Shores” Part of the Legacy of the Network’s Top 5 Series Sundays
Hallmark Channel announces it has renewed the network’s hit, original series “Chesapeake Shores” for a fourth season. Airing on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT, “Chesapeake Shores” was one of Hallmark Channel’s most-watched original series and joins the network’s other primetime scripted shows as a top five-rated series on Sunday nights. Production on six episodes for season four is scheduled to commence this year for a season four premiere Summer 2019. The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Networks’ bi-annual Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour.
“Viewers have found a home in their hearts for ‘Chesapeake Shores’ and have consistently made it a top performing show year-after-year,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “We look forward to further exploring the show’s heartfelt and compelling storylines as characters navigate the complexities of life and love,” Vicary concluded.
Based on the novels of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods, the series stars Jesse Metcalfe (“Dallas”), Meghan Ory (“Once Upon a Time”), Golden Globe(R) nominee Treat Williams (“Everwood,” Hair), Academy Award(R) nominee Diane Ladd (Wild at Heart), Barbara Niven (“Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove”), Laci J. Mailey (“Falling Skies”), Emilie Ullerup (“Sanctuary”), Brendan Penny (“Motive”) and Andrew Francis (“Final Destination 3”).
The multi-generational family drama “Chesapeake Shores” follows Abby O’Brien (Ory), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to two daughters, as she adjusts to life back in her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Abby now balances a budding relationship with her former high school sweetheart, Trace (Metcalfe), working for a firm that does business with her uncompromising father Mick (Williams) and raising her children. Returning to her hometown means engaging in the lives of her siblings: Jess (Mailey) a free-spirit trying to succeed as a bed and breakfast owner; Bree (Ullerup), a playwright who buys a bookstore in Chesapeake Shores after moving back home from Chicago; Kevin (Penny), a soldier adjusting to civilian life and new romance; and Connor (Francis), a new lawyer establishing his professional career. Having returned to Chesapeake Shores shortly after Abby, the O’Brien’s once-estranged mother Megan (Niven) strives to reestablish relationships with Abby and her siblings, though the O’Brien clan primarily looks to its wise grandmother Nell (Ladd) for guidance.
“Chesapeake Shores” is a Daniel L. Paulson Production. Dan Paulson, Michael Berns, Nancey Silvers and Sherryl Woods are executive producers. Matt Drake serves as producer.
What do you think? Do you like the Chesapeake Shores TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a fourth season? Should season four be the end?
Hallmark is my go to station for weekend entertainment! I love Chesapeake Shores ! Would love to see it return for a fifth season.
How many tv shows nowadays can a 60-something grandma watch with her teenaged granddaughters? Such a great multi-generational family storyline that isn’t too sappy or saccharine (thanks to the seasoned actors). Please continue to produce this show. It is rare & much appreciated. Still interested in Nell & her secret love in Ireland!
Best show I have watched in years. I wait season to season for it to be aired. When the show went off last season, I cried until I was sick. Not because it was going off, although that hurt my heart, but that episode was so full of emotions, hurt but healing and sadness reversing to happiness. I love the show and think it should play weekly all year. I wouldn’t change one thing about it. The setting, characters and even the music is wonderful. It would be an injustice to take it off.
Great show Chesapeake shores hope they keep renewing it.
Love hallmark shows like Chesapeake shores, cedar cove they are wonderful stores should have more like these programs. Need to keep it going!
I love this show. I hope it goes for season 5
I love this show. Please consider renewing this show. Thank you
I love Chesapeake shores but every time I love a show they don’t renew it and we’ve lost another family friendly show. I love when calls the heart but I think that is going away to. I wish hallmark would realize that there are a lot of people that appreciate good family entertainment.
Absolutely, bring it back for another season!
I really like Chesapeake Shores. I will be disappointed if this upcoming season is the end. However, I think for it to continue, some new twists may be needed. The storyline needs to move a little faster so each show isn’t just more of the same.
Love Chesapeake Shores! Pleasekeep renewing it.
Love Chesapeake Shores! Can’t wait for it to start this summer 2019. Disappointed in just 6 episode’s but will take what I can get. Please keep renewing it.

I am truly enjoying this series. I know all good things must end, but I’m not ready to let go. It’s not just the people of the series it’s the whole package. I enjoy the scenery, and the music…all of it!
