After a season of mediocre ratings, NBC moved Chicago Fire to follow The Voice. As a result, the show was one of a few network series to go up in the ratings year-to-year. Will the numbers continue to climb? Will it be renewed for a fourth season or could it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Chicago Fire follows the lives and work of the firefighters, rescue squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minso, Yuri Sardarov, and Christian Stolte.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/5 update: NBC has renewed Chicago Fire for a fourth season. Details here.
Final season averages: 1.82 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.42 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Chicago Fire averaged a 2.0 rating in the demo and 7.46 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
another series low rating
I love this show along with my entire family. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL!
Love Chicago Fire and want to see it renewed. The comments above are from people who watch the show, and from the comments above, seems like at least part of the show’s drop in viewership could be due to the sporadic scheduling. Too many skipped weeks make disappointed viewers. Disappointed viewers soon become lost viewers.
Yes I want to see both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD renewed as they and Blue Bloods are about the only TV shows that I ever find worth watching on television these days, now that the idiotic network top brass cancelled “Killer Women” since Texas Ranger Molly was too hot for them! Miss Shay and wish they had killed off that phony Dawson (aka Monica Raymund) whose only talent is to show off her boobs!
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL CHICAGO FIRE/PD. I DO LOVE THE SHOWS AND ACTORS. WHY WAS SHAY KILLED OFF THE SERIES?
AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THE TWO SHOWS. LOOK FORWARD TO TUES/WED SERIES WEEKLY. THANK YOU!!!!!
CHICAGO FIRE. ..best most awesome as how in all networks. ..YES.. I love all the story lines an look so forward t o Tuesdays. . I will not be happy if I can’t watch Donna an Chief, Severide and Casey…an My favorite poor Mills…an Dawson….love them all Keep quality Television ..Good job NBC
Cancel this horrible show, it’s just another soap opera aimed at sad lonely women. They have the whole day to watch their “stories”. Stop all this firefighter and cop Dick Wolf tragedies and air something original. No more retired CIA assassin junk either.
Hey Retired Army 13F you sound very bitter how come? Couldn’t get hired on a paid City Fire Department? Or do you just hate fire fighters and cops or what? Just by the way my own brother happens to be a retired Denver Fire Captain and my late father was an undercover Federal Prohibition Agent and I have worked in public and private law enforcement myself and resent your nasty attacks on both Cops & Fire Fighters!…..And was a US Army Medic with 911.20 and 913.10 MOS! Honorable Discharged!
Oh be quiet. This is one of the best shows on tv. As well as all Chigago Pd, Criminal Minds and Blue Bloods. Far from soap opera. What is it that you like to watch if you have a problem with these shows? Housewives???? And real women have jobs or are stay at home moms that keep them busy all day. We don’t get to watch our soap operas.
This is one of the best shows on tv. sorry, but that isn’t saying much. the least ugly in the ugly contest is still ugly
Here’s a thought….move Fire to an earlier time and cancel those 2 ridiculous half hour sitcoms then watch the ratings soar.
Renew Chicago Fire and Chicago PD along keeping Blue Bloods on the air and pick up Killer Women as Texas Ranger Molly was one of the hottest gals on TV! Chicago Fire needs to get rid of that phony minority drama queen Dawson poor excuse for a female fire fighter and lousy actress! Time to forget the PC nonsense!
Chicago Fire has to be one of my favorite shows on the air. It’s unfortunate that the ratings are not actually correct. I know a lot of friends that watch the show. If you are judging just on the actual night it is running the ratings are not accurate. How about all the people who watch it on demand and everyone else who uses a DVR. It would be a real disappointment to see it go off the air. By the way thumbs up to Chicago PD.
Chicago Fire is one of the best shows on tv and has all the drama of the job fire fighters face coupled with the human emotional elements. Please keep it going
Please renew. Great show
I want Chicago fire renewed it is a brilliant programme with an equally brilliant cast
Chicago Fire is one of the better shows on tv. I hope it is to continue to be on tv.
Absolutely LOVE Chicago Fire. I hope it never goes off the air but it was very disappointing when Shay died. I think it certainly hurt the ratings due to the dynamic relationship with Severide. It’s not the same without Shay.
Love the show though – getting used to Shay not being there and it’s just a great show. Severide just has to get over Shay and hopefully move on to a better story line.
What the Hell man! Outside of The Blacklist, Chicago Fire is a another great show. Ratings have turned into the money game instead of how many viewers are there. Knock it off! Chicago Fire has substance & intellect. Leave it be! RENEW!!!
I want Chicago Fire renewed. It is a great show.
