Last season, it looked like Chicago Fire was going to be cancelled but then the ratings started to perk up. NBC renewed it for a second season and gave it an incredibly strong lead-in, The Voice. Will it become a hit or end up being cancelled instead? Time will tell.
As the title suggests, Chicago Fire follows the personal and professional lives of those working for the Chicago Fire Department. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, and David Eigenberg.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/19 update: NBC has renewed this show for the 2014-15 season.
Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.46 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Chicago Fire averaged a 1.8 rating in the demo and 6.59 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I have not read anything about Chicago Med. I love this program, content and actors. I also love the way NBC has integrated Chicago Med, Fire and PD. It makes for exciting watching every week. I do not remember if this has ever been done before. That was a brilliant idea for NBC to maybe the first network to do such a thing. Please, please do not take Chicago Med off of the air or either of the other two ever.
Thank you, Becky Rae
LEASE DO NOT C ANCEL TWO GREAT SHOWS
Such a wonderful programme I record it just incase I miss it please do not cancel it
Chicago Fire is a well written and casted show. Very rarely does a show fare so well the first season. I really hope this show continues the success as it has thus far. There really is no other show that is as good as this- personal opinion perhaps but given the crossover shows that blend so well, ie. Chicago PD and Law and Order SVU, it’s just awesome! I just hope and pray this show continues to press forward and bless our homes with a great story line, great acting, and anticipation to the next episode.
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL CHICAGO FIRE/PD. MY TWO FAVORITE SHOWS. NEVER MISS IT. ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO TUES/WED EVENINGS. JUST LOVE THE CAST AND STORY LINES.
AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL MY TWO FAVORITE SHOWS. THANK YOU.
