Chicago Fire and Chicago Med aired the first two parts of a crossover with Chicago PD on NBC on Tuesday night, and tonight’s episode of Chicago PD will introduce a Chicago lawyer. That introduction is stirring up some questions. Is a Chicago Law series in the works?
Matt Olmstead was asked about the possibility of a fourth series being added to the Chicago family of series helmed by Dick Wolf. Can it happen? Not likely. At least, not yet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Olmstead said:
“I have no idea. And I’m not being coy. There haven’t been any conversations about that. There’s been no effort towards a fourth show. Not to say that there wouldn’t or couldn’t be. I’m looking right now at a framed photo of all three Chicago shows and all three casts, and its humbling to see what’s happened and all the people that it employs in Chicago and just the cast members and how they transfer from show to show and creatively how rewarding it is for me and for everybody involved. To think of one more right now, we’ve got our hands full.”
The Chicago franchise does seem a bit full at the moment, but the casts and crew have managed to make the third addition fit in. Chicago Med is averaging almost 9 million viewers per episode before this week’s numbers come in. With the series returning this week, that number might go up even higher.
Would a fourth series added to the three already in play be too much? Tell us what you think.
Please do Not cancell either Chicago Fire or Chicaco Med they are so great if you leave it on I’ll watch the law one. All there is on TV is stupid brainless 1/2 shows. Please don’t take them off I’ll die .
I followed into all of the Chicago spin-offs and I love them all. Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, I never miss ANY of them. And, honestly, I really wouldn’t want to see a Chicago Law show brought into the mix, I simply have no interest for it whatsoever. An occasional lawyer brought in here and there is great, even for several episodes is wonderful but NOT for a show of its own. JUST NOT INTERESTING ENOUGH. It’s been done. Let our Chicago trio stay strong!! I’d hate to see anything taken from it or anything that may distract our… Read more »
I really hope they don’t start another series. I wish they’d get rid of that SVU show…..how many sexual assualts can you do and with Mariska Hargitay being the the central focus and all….everyone but Ice T has jumped ship!!! The only times I’ve watched it sine Chris Meloni and others left was these crossiver events…..not to mention that if she’s the head of the dept. Then why isn’t she sending her detectives instead of the precinct…another way to plaster her face on the tv. We viewers cannot take anothe Chicago show. We certainly don’t need a law show…next it’ll… Read more »
I totally agree… really sick of SVU…. Loved the original L & O, but this one makes my skin crawl. As for the addition of a LAW show w/the other Chicago shows? Maybe after a while, but right now 3 is enough.
I love Chicago Fire but I usually only watch PD with a crossover, same with MD. I can’t get into medical shows (since House). Never been a big fan of the medical genre, unless it’s forensics (like Bones). PD is ok.
I love Chicago Fire and Chicago PD and Chicago MD maybe they come out with Chicago law and maybe a hit also all we can do is see what happens but it better not take away from the first three shows cuz they are all excellent they all need to be renewed for several seasons to come
If they take their time as they JUST added Chicago Med find its place and then maybe talk about another one. I LOVE all of the shows and would certainly give a Chicago Law a shot. Great for Chicago as it employs a lot of people.
