What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the SundanceTV cable channel, Cleverman stars Hunter Page-Lochard, Rob Collins, Iain Glen, Frances O’Connor, Deborah Mailman, Tasma Walton, Rarriwuy Hick, Jada Alberts, Rachael Blake, Tony Briggs, Clarence Ryan, Taylor Ferguson, Rob Collins, Stef Dawson, Ryan Corr, and Jack Charles. The supernatural drama draws inspiration from Australian Aboriginal mythological traditions. Set in the near future — when beings of Aboriginal legend live among humans — the story moves between two worlds: The City and The Zone. In the “regular world” of The City, uniformed, armed Containment Officers patrol the streets to keep people “safe” from Hairypeople, whom the government deems subhuman. Only the Cleverman — a chosen one — has the power to reunite these two worlds and discern the real evil behind a murderous spree terrorizing everyone.

Telly’s Take
Although season two premiered with low numbers (even for a small cable network), Cleverman is a joint production between SundanceTV and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, so its success down under will play into whether it is cancelled or renewed for a third season. Word is that it’s not doing well there either. I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings but I suspect that Cleverman won’t see a third season. I dont know why viewers are down on this show its one of the better shows ive seen on netflix they really need another season!
Cleverman is wonderful show and brings an interesting worldview to American TV. I would love to see the series continue its storylines.

From the states and caught Cleverman on Netflix. Finished it in just 2 days. I need more!!! They seriously can’t leave it hanging like that. I hope Netflix grabs it if Sundance doesn’t want to finish it.
Great show! I caught it on Netflix. Had I not seen it on Netflix, I wouldn’t have know that it even existed. It will be a crying shame if it isn’t renewed for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th season. Who knows.. Maybe Netflix should pick it up.

Love this series! Best creative Australian production I’ve seen. So rich in metaphors of important social significance. To not continue for another season would be a travesty.

Cleverman is a brilliant series. so different from the usual Australian fare. A show that can truly stand up with the best of them. Aussie tv coming of age. Please renew the series long enough to tell the full story properly. It’s way too good to leave unfinished.
