What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the SundanceTV cable channel, Cleverman stars Hunter Page-Lochard, Rob Collins, Iain Glen, Frances O’Connor, Deborah Mailman, Tasma Walton, Rarriwuy Hick, Jada Alberts, Rachael Blake, Tony Briggs, Clarence Ryan, Taylor Ferguson, Rob Collins, Stef Dawson, Ryan Corr, and Jack Charles. The supernatural drama draws inspiration from Australian Aboriginal mythological traditions. Set in the near future — when beings of Aboriginal legend live among humans — the story moves between two worlds: The City and The Zone. In the “regular world” of The City, uniformed, armed Containment Officers patrol the streets to keep people “safe” from Hairypeople, whom the government deems subhuman. Only the Cleverman — a chosen one — has the power to reunite these two worlds and discern the real evil behind a murderous spree terrorizing everyone.

Telly’s Take
Although season two premiered with low numbers (even for a small cable network), Cleverman is a joint production between SundanceTV and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, so its success down under will play into whether it is cancelled or renewed for a third season. Word is that it’s not doing well there either. I’ll keep a hungry eye on the ratings but I suspect that Cleverman won’t see a third season. I think this was a really great series for Australia & would really love to see more especially to see the baby being born & how everyone can co- exist togethe.

I absolutely loved this show! I want to know so much more! What happens next? I hope that someone picks this story up for a third season! I think it would find a bigger audience as more and more people turn from regular network broadcast television viewing like cable and satellite dish to the alternative subscriptions now available. Come on Netflix, You Tube, Amazon Prime et all get onboard for continuing this gem!

This honestly was one of my favorite shows. I can’t believe people weren’t into this. Like how could they not!? I’ve been checking for this for so long so disappointed it’s not back on for run three.. at minimum NETFLIX needs to pick this up!!!
I completely agree, this is also my favorite show, and I’ve been telling others to watch it. Would be great if Netflix would pick it up.
This is one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. Very original, great acting, great script, great camera work, light, sound. All is super high quality!
