In its freshman installment, the Code Black TV show earned low ratings for a CBS TV series. Instead of cancelling though, the network renewed it, with the requisite cast changes. Its numbers fell further last year, but it still wasn’t cancelled, probably thanks to licensing deal concessions. Will the third season see the audience grow or further diminish, and if so, how low can it go? Will Code Black be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **Status update below
A CBS medical drama, Code Black stars Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Rob Lowe, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, and Moon Bloodgood. The story unfolds at Angels Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the country. The high patient volume dwarfs the resources available to the exceptional staff — creating a condition known as Code Black. .
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
7/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The second season of Code Black averaged a 0.97 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.984 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV series? Should this CBS TV show have been cancelled or renewed for season four?

with all the ******** reality shows on TV this show was a true story teller….I cant beleive they cnacelled it
Love the show. Best show on TV. My husband and I have enjoyed it. One of the very few show we like.
This show should be renewed , better than a lot of the junk on the air. It was one of my favorite shows
RENEW IT! This show shows maturity and also learning experiences to motivate your career in the medical field. No non-sense show. Watch it together with my grandchildren. Educational..
I am not surprised to see it cancelled. Code black is one of the few shows on television that is intelligent and compelling. Sadly, the few shows my husband and I like due to those reasons usually only last a couple seasons.
Code Black is my top TV show. It show the truest situations that occurs in an ER. Just like the previous review the show should of had more publicity most of my friends wouldn’t know about this show. Once aware they were hooked. Definitely wish for a Season 4 or maybe 5,6,7,8… It made me cry and laugh Wich most TV show don’t transmit.
Code Black is a great show which has evolved over the seasons from strictly medical to medical, enhanced character development, and delivering positive social messages. I feel the show never received the publicity it deserved to make it successful – most people I talk to have never heard of it
Its truly a shame when excellent programs with much needed beneficial messages to our society are canceled. As one who worked in a hospital and ER I particularly appreciated this program and its attention to detail and subject matter and the humanity of the caretakers. Maybe your ratings scale should have widened its age range…I imagine there are many outside that range and fellow ER retirees who also valued this representation of the life in a hospital and ER. It has been more realistic than many other shows and was well done on both cinematographic as well as scripted content.… Read more »
Awesome best Medical show on TV
Code Black is an awesome show, I don’t understand why you canceled it. It is better than those reality or sports ninja shows. It had really good stories with awesome actors. I hope that you people reconsider.
Code Black was one of the best shows on TV Not one week was ever boring.
Code Black is one of the best medical shows on tv. I looked forward every Wednesday. Best cast of characters and best storylines. Much better than bringing back all of the older shows. (Some are ok) I hope another network picks it up.
Kim, how true. One of best shows period. Relevant story lines and amazing cast that kept you coming back. Let’s hope another network was the vision to keep this show alive. Same on this network!
NO PLEASE A show with a good cast, interesting stories and geared toward adults. Please rethink your decision I really enjoy this show and there ARE SO FEW I can say that about!
I finally found an intelligent TV program and it’s been cancelled. I’m really upset about this because it’s hard to find well-written shows like this one. I’d like to see it be renewed.
Definitely do not cancel Code Black! By far the best dramatic show on television! Please reconsider and do not cancel. All CBS is doing is comedies and getting rid of the good shows.Netflicks pick this up! Please and Thank You.
