TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
This is one of the best medical shows on television and I don’t understand why it was cancelled. I think it was more realistic than other medical dramas and I would really like to see it picked up again.
Best show on TV today – do not cancel. Please!
This is an amazing show about real life drama. It is one of the best shows I have ever watched. i really hate to see it get cancelled, it should be changed to have it renew another season. Just when it was getting so exciting they decide to cancel this amazing show. So disappointed it is cancelled.
We thought it was one of the best on tv. One of the few we dvr’d so we would never miss a show. Will glady swap networks if it comes back for a 4th season
Loved it. One of the few shows we dvr’d so we’d never miss a show. Will gladly swap normal networks if it comes back for another season. A shame and far better than most shows on tv now.
Do NOT cancel!!!!!
Code Black is one of the best medical dramas on TV. The constant chaos and pressure in a major trauma ER is reflective of real life. I would like to see the show continue.
I love Code Black. I could watch it everyday. Please don’t cancel.
What a bunch of idiots at CBS they obviously don’t know or care what people like, Rob Lowe saved the show, I didn’t care to much for season 1, the cast changes in season 2, turned the show around, season 3 was fantastic, the fanaly was awesome.the only show on CBS I watch is blue bloods, can’t believe it was renewed for season 9, they cancell that show I won’t watch ANYTHING on CBS, nothing worth watching, RECONSIDER SEASON 4, geniuses
There are so few “good” series on major networks so when one comes along it is sad to see the network cancel what appears to be a beloved TV show. I hope someone else picks it up because it is a great show. CBS wake up. I am tired of all the crap that I pay to watch. Maybe it’s time to quit regular TV and go to full-on streaming shows.
Please don’t cancel this show. It is the best series on tv today
Please keep CODE BLACK going!! I TRULY love the show. It is one of the BEST shows made. Real life events, and a truly remarkable cast and hospital!!
I can’t believe they are considering cancelling this show!! This is a riveting show, with several interesting story lines. I agree with Toni, get rid of some of the Reality shows, or the some of the other crap! PLEASE KEEP CODE BLACK GOING!!
