TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
One of the best series on tv, never should have been cancelled. VERY disappointed.
This was one of the best series I have seen in a loooong time. Loved it. Every character was fantastic. I was hoping this show would go on for a long time. I was shocked to find out it wasn’t coming back. PLEASE reconsider. I cried last night because the show was so good. Maybe even another network please pick it up for renewal!!
Show is very good and should be renewed NOT cancelled
Code Black was one of the best shows that CBS had. Look at some of the half hour sit coms that are an insult to our intelligence. Who will watch some of these new programs they are showing for the new fall season!! I for one will not be watching.
They moved it around the first couple of seasons so it was hard to find. But it just kept getting better and better anyway. Please reconsider. Give it a solid home!
It should have been RENEWED NOT CANCELLED. There are many other shows that are horrible that are renewed & should’ve been cancelled. This is a great show.
Should have been RENEWED. One of the best shows on TV.
Code Black got better each season. This season was great. My husband even liked it and he doesn’t watch a lot of TV. Very surprised and disappointed that it was cancelled. One of the better shows on TV.
I love Code Black. Please don’t cancel it. I always get a good cry in because it’s so moving. The cast really feels like a family. I love the way they support each other. It’s something that’s lacking in many shows. Please don’t cancel it.
Every time a decent show comes out, they cancel it. My wife and I watch this show religously. My wife cries every episode. I don’t understand what they are thinking. It is just rediculous. With so much garbage out there right now, it would be nice to be able to watch the shows that are in our opinion great. We may just stop watching CBS, becaus any show we get involved with will just be canceled anyways. With so many other options out there, it wont be hard. Shame on you CBS. Goodbye.
I believe CBS has made a big mistake in cancelling this program. For once current issues are addressed realistically, the actors are superb, the program has a good following, and this program is one of my favorites. I have no clue the issues behind this cancellation, but ask CBS to reconsider their decision and bring Code Black back to its followers. A job well-done for the actors in this program.
this was one of the few shows i watched on cbs as it was the only one worth watching. Sorry you canceled it, won’t watch your network anymore
I absolutely love CODE BLACK. The cast is fantastic. I have just fell in love with all of the characters. It is about life and death and how we interact with each other. It does not contain a lot of unneeded sexual situations like some shows. Since it started I have LOVED it, please do not cancel! Good TV is hard to find anymore
I am shocked and very disappointed! This show was fabulous…I can think of many other shows that suck! This one was outstanding. Why oh why do they do this? Reel us in, we watch we watch, we love the show, and then they ax it!!! Where are the Neilson ratings when you need them. Boy I do hope they bring this one back!!! There was not a single actor I did not like. Please………we want our Code Black!!!!
Please don’t cancel Code Black. Favorite medical drama.
