TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
This show is such a compelling show that delivers drama , action and love… caring … I look forward to it every week ! The actors really bring such moving performances that seem so real ! The hour goes by so fast that I can’t wait to see what happens next ! Their relationships in the show make the characters more likeable .. I look forward to this show please don’t cancel it ! There aren’t many shows that are this compelling !
Please do not remove Code Black! I’ve invested myself in these characters and I love watching this show! There aren’t two many shows today that draw my attention but this show has since the very first episode! Please don’t rip it from us!
Code Black was the best Medical drama in TV history. I go back to the days of Frontier Doctor & Ben Casey viewing medical dramas. I hope TNT, Fox or some other network picks up this show.
Please renew Code Black it is my favorite show. Best medical show ever.
Please don’t cancel my favorite show, Code Black – best medical drama ever
This is one of the best shows on T.V. That’s not a crime drama. What is wrong with the idiots at the network
I hate that Code Black was cancelled. It has been one of the best written shows on T.V. Why do they cancel quality shows and keeps so many really stupid shows?
Please reconsider this highly talented, lovable, and exciting show. I was heart broken that series was ending. It is one of my favorites.
This is by far the best medical drama on TV. If took forever to have season 3 return. Now season 4 might not happen. Why? It is so action packed with a human side to it. It covers today’s issues. It is real life because it is not a fairy tale ending. Please do not cancel this show. Take off a reality show if you need a place to put it.
More and more i am going to Netflix for quality shows because the networks continue to cancel shows that appeal to my generation. Pretty soon i will not need network tv. Netflix please take on Code Black.
Absolutely should renew Code Black, it is the best show on TV right now. I just watched the season finale and it was superb!
Whomever decided Code Black was going nowhere and should be cancelled is a glorified putz! This show had the highest ratings in its time-slot, and they can it? Hello? That’s makes no sense! I hope Netflix or Amazon or Hulu picks this show up and runs with it. And please keep the entire cast, they are great together and are all high caliber actors!
Can you say exciting? Talk about going out with a bang! The last episode showed what a great show Code Black is. Please bring it back! There are millions of stories to portray, let’s see more. Superb acting!
I agree Peggy…it was a great ending with what I thought was the end of only this season. I was very disappointed when I read they were canceling the show. This was on of the best medical drama’s on television.
I believe Code Black shouldn’t of been cancelled. It had the back bones of being the ER and all the seasons that were aired. A medical drama without the sex and soap opera type storyline like Grey’s Anatomy which I won’t watch.
Code Black should not have been cancelled it needs to be renewed
It should be renewed. It is a great show.
