What’s This TV Show About?
A USA Network sci-fi drama, Colony stars Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies, Tory Kittles, Peter Jacobson, and Alex Neustaedter. The story unfolds in the near-future, in a world where citizens are under military occupation by the Colony Transitional Authority, as part of a larger extraterrestrial invasion. Former FBI agent Will Bowman (Holloway) and wife Katie (Callies) were raising their daughter and two sons in Los Angeles, but were separated from the younger boy during the invasion and pulled out all the stops to get him back. The third season kicks off six months after the season two finale, with Will and Katie rebuilding their family in the world beyond the walls. They soon begin a journey during which they’ll uncover the truth behind the occupation. Once again, this family will find themselves having to choose sides.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Colony averaged a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 665,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 37% and 18%, respectively. Check out how Colony stacks up against other USA Network TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will Colony cancel or renew Colony for season four? The ratings are way down once again. USA could renew it (they’ve renewed lower-rated shows) but I suspect that Colony is expensive so it will be cancelled instead. @Michael Kormos: You know, it’s a RARE THING for any station to “pick up” any other station’s shows. Funny how people comment that way on this website all the time. I love this show, but all the idiots out there watching mindless Hellyweird crap like Big Bang Theory make it almost impossible for us, those who actually use brains to think, to have a high-quality, intelligent TV show to watch and contemplate during the week.
Maybe the SciFy network can pick Colony up? This show can’t end like this! Come on USA , give us another season so we can have some closure.
Terrible way to leave it.. I wont be watching anything else from these networks..and stick to netflix. They had something really good and unique.. only to throw it away without even a proper ending. Atleast one more season could have been put together to give it some conclusion. This i hope will deter viewers from watching shows that are cancelled before their time. I mean you leave other shows to go on that are really horrible to watch, i wont watch wynona Pup, or killjoys, or suits,, so boring… but its the same old , sheez.
They idiotically picked the juvenile Killjoys over Dark Matter which was, by far, the BETTER of the two shows. I used to watch Syfy all the time. Now I don’t even know their schedule except they have Futurama on all the time. What a sad ending for what was once a great SCI FI Channel! It’s clear to me USA is going the same way. I call BS on this and the reason you are losing viewers. Don’t mind a show being canceled as long as you do right by your viewers and complete the story line. This was not it and not the way to end a series. At a point, with ALL networks, to not invest in anymore series and just watch movies or Netflix. Done with this crap.
Are you kidding me? How can they just leave us hanging when the series is just getting to the best part? SHAME ON YOU, USA Network. I won’t watch anymore of your shows, since I cannot rely on you to bring them to a final conclusion. This was like reading a mystery novel, only to find the last chapter ripped out.
I have watched all episodes of Colony. They keep getting more intense and makes the week long waiting for the next episode. The Bowmans are a well oiled machine. Please reconsider and revive the series!!! All the great series keep getting cancelled so please don’t KILL this one. I have watched the Bowmans in early charactures in Lost and Prison Break and in Colony they have grown.
La verdad que se siente mal. Vi la tercera temporada por web, me pareció muy buena, y es erróneo cancelar una serie basándose en el ranking local (es decir el norteamericano) cuando hoy en día una serie es vista en cualquier lugar del planeta. Es verdad que ese ranking no puede medirse, pero es un fenómeno que existe y no puede ser ignorado a la hora de evaluar el futuro de un producto televisivo. This cancellation is a complete lack of respect for the viewers. It’s not possible that there is no punishment for those responsible of the channel who took this shameful decision. Colony is just a good TV fiction. But the channel’s attitude is real and that’s unforgivable. The minimum that was required was to give something like an end to this TV series. One thing I promise. I don’t know why the ratings went down this season for The Colony. It was, by far, the best season this show has had. I think internet television is finally having an effect on the TV network shows. At any rate, it left us with a cliffhanger which defies all logic. No way can we NOT have an ending for this great, science fiction show. A pox on USA’s house!!! We are from austria und started watching”colony”on netflix and totally got into it. Great writing, thrilling story, love the characters and their development, the decisions they make is very human, their struggle. We love the good direction work! It would be a shame to cancel the show -Those people dont know what is good, they just look at ratings and money and give us just stupid rubbish tv shows instead ..
I am so fuming that the show has ended and that we will never find out what happens at the end an if they win the war….not fair if I knew it was going to end like that I wouldn’t have watched it
i hope this goes on again.the actors are great and the series really cool.
