A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior won’t be back for a second season? Why do you think this one didn’t catch on?

I just finished watching it too on netflix & it had promise. It could have been better but they knew what needed doing & could have so easily been put right in season 2. Most spin offs you have to work at to like but if you like the orginal show chances are you gonna like the spin off. They made major boo-boos by not developing the characters & giving you background on them from the get go but I thought the show got better as the season went on. It was lighter than the original which made different viewing.… Read more »
I’m so mad you cancel this I have just found it on netflix
And iv watch all and enjoyed it there is plenty of crappie on TV for you to change but not that
I’v just watched the 1st series and have to agree with others that it’s better than its parent series, and def a no no to be cancelled after a to be continued, what was the network thinking
noooo why do they cancel all the good shows and keep shi* on like kardashians …..etc i mean come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think that they have made a major mistake i love love love this show , and what them over and over again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i agree with some of the others, they cancel good shows that actually teach some about the rights and wrongs in life or the do’s and don’t in live but they keep the fake reality shows on air. Even though suspect behavior wasn’t based on true stories at the end they had good meanings to them. The world we live in now and days only want to see the drama that goes on with people that can care two pennies about them. They want to see the shows of people making a total a$$ of themselves and look like fools… Read more »
I don’t think it’s fair that the season ended the way that it did, because the last show was to be continued, I honest feel that the criminal minds suspect behavior is far more better that the original one. There was no real reason to cancel this show and I don’t think it’s fair, bring on the second season and cancel all other crap shows.
There was no real reason to cancel this show!!! But I can think of a lot of reason to cancel some shows that still seem to be limping along however bad they were when they started. This just isn’t fair anymore to watchers…All these Great shows being cancelled to make way for the stupid brain sucking reality shows.
Stupidity to cancel a show with an ending like that!! Those who actually liked the show has a right to know how it ended. You just can’t end an episode with “to be continued”, and then cancel it.

wth. -.- im sooo mad rn ! youu can’t just cancel this show ! i need to know what happens next ! curiosity is killing meeee ! please come back ! 🙁
You just cant end a show like this, everyone deserves to know what happens? If CBS is going to behave like NBC and not finish any shows than what’s the point of watching television at all….sad and pathetic to call yourselves a network if you cant finish what you start
OMG!! How could they end it without finishing the last story?? Who was shot? How does it end? It was so good…Sadly, with all the reality tv shows being such garbage, I cancelled my cable and only watch shows with my Amazon Prime. Would have paid to see how this one ended. 🙁
Why do all the good shows go, but the Kardashians stay on?
You HAVE TO BRING SUSPECTED BEHAVIOR BACK!!!!! I LOVED the show unfortunately I worked during the time it came on but always watched it on demand after!!!! PLEASE BRING IT BACK
You guys should bring it back the last few episodes were really good. And the last one had me on edge please bring it back!
It was a great show Please rethink about bringing it back
I wish there was another season. 🙂
