As you may recall, NBC aired the first season of Crossing Lines a couple summers ago. It didn’t perform well enough in the ratings and the network opted not to pick up the second season. Crossing Lines has been a success in the international market however and Netflix recently started streaming season two for US audiences.
Deadline now reports that a third season of 12 episodes has been ordered with Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Revolution) and Goran Visnjic (ER) joining the cast. They’ll join Donald Sutherland as leads, replacing William Fichtner.
The X-Files’ Frank Spotnitz is joining the show as an executive producer alongside Tandem’s Rola Bauer. Crossing Lines creator and executive producer Ed Bernero departed after Season two to be close to his family in California.
The series shoots in Europe and filming will be getting underway next week in Prague. It’s not known when season three will be available here in the States, via Netflix or some other outlet.
What do you think? Do you like the Crossing Lines TV show? Have you seen the second season? Would you pay to watch the third season?
I think the third season is just great! I was disappointed when the characters from season two left but I was willing to check out the third season. After several episodes the show grew on me. They have gone in a different direction with a woman lead – awesome!
Season 2 was great- not happy with cast of season 3
Not happy with season 3- You had a great show with the cast of season 2
I agree…even Donald Sutherland isn’t as good in his expanded role in season 3….wish the old cast was back.
way too many changes for season 3 , no continuity, we were addicted, now we are not. you only get one chance for a first impression. maybe they can bring the origional characters back from their hospital beds or comas or something.
The original cast was perfect. Even the cast from season 2 was good. The first 2 seasons were nail biters. Loved them. Not fond of the cast on the 3rd season and you just had to bring in the filthy language.
Loved seasons 1 & 2, but am unimpressed with season three. What made the producers think losing most of the cast was a good idea??? The show has lost it’s European feel and grit and I’m sorry, Elizabeth Mitchell cannot act.
A great show gone bad. Season 3’s new cast showed it’s ‘Americanization’ and the loss of the interesting ‘european’ feel to the show. Now it’s all action, mailed in dialogue, bad characterization, weak cast and to add insult to injury, the worst ‘ opening audio song I’ve heard in a long time. At least the first two seasons were quite good.
Another perfectly written, preformed and produced tv series that the ‘Big’ networks can’t make enough money on so Dump it. Well great that Netflix and their subscribers see the need and enjoy the series. Please continue watching and hopefully season four(4) will be on the table to be made.
Intelligent, engaging, and well acted; a rarity today. Yes, I think “Crossing Lines” should be renewed, year after year.
I sincerely believe that this show was the best written and entertaining series I have enjoyed in years. I’m very disappointed to think it would be over so soon. The collection of actors and stories are superb. Bravo!!
I agree that season 1 & 2 were fabulous and the actors were great. Too bad that season 3 if so different. The show is a disappointment now with the new cast.
I love Crossing Lines! I would like to see it continued indefinitely. I will watch it as long as it continues to be produced.
YES YES YES!!!!
Loved season 1 & 2 and the cast was awesome.
love season 1 and 2 and the cast
like cast on season 3 wish you would bring back the cast of season 1
looks like you left the door open
a creative writer could do it or have 2 teams 2 story lines every other season
look at how many people watch pbs Americans like shows set in Europe
Bring back season one and two cast members…even though I like to see all of them from season one, two and three together.
