As you may recall, NBC aired the first season of Crossing Lines a couple summers ago. It didn’t perform well enough in the ratings and the network opted not to pick up the second season. Crossing Lines has been a success in the international market however and Netflix recently started streaming season two for US audiences.
Deadline now reports that a third season of 12 episodes has been ordered with Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Revolution) and Goran Visnjic (ER) joining the cast. They’ll join Donald Sutherland as leads, replacing William Fichtner.
The X-Files’ Frank Spotnitz is joining the show as an executive producer alongside Tandem’s Rola Bauer. Crossing Lines creator and executive producer Ed Bernero departed after Season two to be close to his family in California.
The series shoots in Europe and filming will be getting underway next week in Prague. It’s not known when season three will be available here in the States, via Netflix or some other outlet.
What do you think? Do you like the Crossing Lines TV show? Have you seen the second season? Would you pay to watch the third season?
Another excellent show canceled prematurely. Just discovered it, actually, so I doubt the series was adequately supported by marketing. Excellent writing, superb cast, solid and engaging characters, interesting back stories, unique premise, great location – what’s not to love about Crossing Lines? A cut above normal television, this series is good enough to be a platform for a full-length, theatrical release movie. Don’t give up on the remarkable concept. The team of actors and writers deserve better. And, with proper marketing, I think there is an audience out there just waiting to discover it.
LOVE THE SHOW!! BRING ON SEASON 3 & 4 IF POSSIBLE! THANKS….
Yes I would definitely pay to see season 3 of Crossing Lines. I love the show and although I am saddened to see some of the cast members gone, I am sure it will still be a great show to watch.
My husband and I have been watching the series Crossing Lines, we think it is a fantastic series and our hoping for a Third season. The writers are very talented ,and done great job.
Excellent show. I like it that there are some “big” stories and some “small” stories. Character development is what really makes this series good. Original cast was excellent and the changes to the cast have been done very well. I guess what I am saying is that this series has a good feel to it. There are elevated moments that make the series meaningful and there are action sequences that make the series fun to watch. The acting holds it all together from episode to episode. I am glad there will be a third series.
Get me the 2nd and 3rd season. One of the best shows.
I have recently watched both season 1 and 2 in a couple of weeks. I enjoyed it and was looking to see if there was a season 3 ,I didnt like the trailer for season 3 without four main characters. unsure if i will watch season 3?
Very well done program. Have missed several hours of sleep watching it. I hope it continues on. NBC made a big mistake when it did not carry it. The only other American program series to hold a candle to it was True Detective by HBO. I am hooked on foreign series now. Netflex has introduced me to so many good ones from New Zealand, England, France and Australia. American tv lacks.
I just started watching on Netflix and really like the show, hope season 3 will be added soon.
Thank you to the cast and crew, love it!
I’m watching season 2 from my home in Mexico. I really like it and will definitely watch it as long as it’s on.
I love the show and I am so glad there will be a 3rd season. I just hate that some of the original cast will not return.
just finished watching both season 1 and 2. Can;t wait for season 3 to be available
Awesome Very well written
Soooo glad there will be a 3rd season. I love the show. But, I agree with above comments about killing off the characters. The entire cast has good ambiance. Why are they all leaving???
I watched season 1 over a year ago on Netflix and really enjoyed it. When I discovered that they had season 2, I loved it even more. I can’t wait to see season 3.
Any idea of when it be released in North America???
AWESOME SAUCE The cancellation from NBC is one of the reasons I stopped watching all network programming. Found S2 on Netflix and was hoping there was going to be a S3.
My fave actor Tom Wlaschiha ( Jaqen H’ghar of GoT ) and other notable shows plays Sebastien. So Netflix, please keep em coming!
