After 10 seasons, it’s time for David Caruso to turn in his sunglasses. CBS has cancelled CSI: Miami, the first show in the CSI franchise to end.
Starting in 2002, the TV series follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who often use advanced scientific methods to solve crimes. The current cast includes Caruso, Adam Rodriguez, Emily Procter, Eva La Rue, Jonathan Togo, Omar Benson Miller, and Rex Linn.
The ratings for CSI: Miami have declined over the years. Season 10 averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season nine by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).
While the cop show’s overall viewership is still impressive, advertisers want shows that cater to the demo audience and the network has many shows that attract big overall audiences.

What’s more, after 10 seasons on the air, CSI: Miami is no doubt very expensive to produce and there are already 232 episodes, more than enough to keep running in syndication for many years.
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, suggested that one of the CSI shows might be cancelled this month. The original CSI was already renewed so it was a guessing game to see if Miami or NY would bite the bullet. CSI: NY has reportedly been renewed for season nine.
Of the cancellation news, CBS released the following statement:
CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that CSI: Miami has been cancelled? Will you miss the show? Was it time for it end or would you have liked to have seen an 11th season?

My favorite series ever!
Sure the other CSI are nice too, but they just don’t compare to Miami.
Sad to see it end :o(
Maybe if they changed the time or day it came on, it would have more viewers. With football running past the slotted time and csi miami not getting recorded for the full hour on dvr it messed a lot of people up for viewing. At least do a short season to end the show correctly. Not just have a season finale and everyone find out later its over.
Too bad that they decide to cancel this great show. I can only hope that they will change their mind and continue to season 11.
I would like to watch more of CSI Miami….I love the current crew. I enjoy watching the show and hope there would be more seasons to come….
I really love this show, csi Miami. Please get season 11 , 12,……..
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee
please keep csi miami on love love love it
CSI MIAMI should be continued as long as forever. it’s not the same with any other program or reality tv show. maybe some adjustment here and there would help to attract viewers and raise the rating but to stop it is a “NO”
I CAN’T BELIEVE TAHT U R GETTING RID OF THIS SHOW AND WHAT I HAVE SEEN COMING ON – SOME LOOK PRETTY STUPID – MIAMI HAD GREAT BEGINNING SCENERY.
IT MADE MIAMI LOOK SO GOOD – I HOPE 2 SEE DAVID ON ANOTHER SHOW MAYBE WITH DENNIS FRENZE WOULD’NT THAT BE SOMETHING 2 SEE.
Wont be the same without CSI MIAMI all three series are great. Bring them back.
Keep them all going. PS. Ted Danson is good in CSI and I couldnt say which one is favourite as I love them all.
I am very upset that they will be no more series of CSI Miami as I enjoy is so much and so does my family. I have just watched the last episode and thought it was not a very good end for the last one as I didnt explain if any of them apart from Calli had a new start or something to in life. I really do hope that CBS decide to make more series of Miami as a lot of people do enjoy them.
CBS is stupid to let CSI Miami go!!! That’s the only good thing on, on sunday nights 🙁 terrible decision!
WTF??? Really? with such an ending… my life will never be the same…Miami is the best of the CSI shows!!
Can not believe that they canceled this program. Nothing better on a Sunday night then to look forward to CSI MIAMI!!!!!
Such a shame the series wasn’t ended properly. Instead the network just pulled the plug.
I love CSI Miami more than any show there is! Best ever!! Please don’t cancel it:( so sad now
