Fans of CSI: New York can rest easy. The Friday night series was looking like it might be cancelled but has now been renewed for an eighth season.
Starring Gary Sinise, CSI: NY investigations follows the investigations of a team of forensic scientists and police officers in the Big Apple. It began in the fall of 2004 and currently co-stars AJ Buckley, Anna Belknap, Carmine Giovinazzo, Eddie Cahill, Hill Harper, Robert Joy, and Sela Ward.
CBS moved CSI: NY to Friday nights this season, leading many to believe that it was on its way out. The ratings have declined over the years and naturally took a big hit when it was moved. Still, the show has performed better than most other shows of the night and currently averages a 1.8 in the 18-49 demographic and more than 10 million viewers.
According to Deadline, the decision to renew came right down to the wire. Contributing factors that pushed it over the edge include the fact that the show has a profitable syndication deal and also does quite well in international sales.
Though the TV series will be back for an eighth season, it’s not decided how many episodes will be ordered. Unlike the others, it may end up being a 13 episodes season.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that CSI: NY will return for season eight?

Keep this show going! Too many reality shows. The cast is great. The background noise is drowning the dialog!!!!!
Yes, it was one of few that was interesting to watch
I love this show please keep it going CBS Let the Vegas show go. Its boring,
Keep it going. We watch it every week. We love that no one person is the star. The evidence is. And all other parts are supporting cast. It is even handed with each character giving the viewers a chance to know each in the story. It is fun to see what piece of evidence will lead to the guilty party and who will pick up on it first.
Keep this program going. We watch it every Friday night. It is a staple in our T.V. viewing time.
Please keep this show. It is one of the best shows on T.V.,C.S.I. New York is great entertainment.
Keep this show it is a winner for CBS. Let the Vegas show go. Its boring and gory. Melina was and favorite, but I really like Sela. Too many changes on the Vegas show. NY is the best, you will be sorry to lose Gary the cast and the show if you cancel
Thank you, this happens to be our favorite show along with Blue Bloods on Friday or any night. Please do not cancel. Cancel CSI Vegas, its a loser, used to watch but too many changes, and its not exciting its gory and boring. Gary is the greatest, when Melina left I was sad, but now I really like Sela. Keep this show it is a big winner for CBS
Gary Sinese is a great actor ! I am really glad that they are renewing the show !
We are THRILLED that CSI New York will be back!!!
CSI New York is one of the shows that does not have as the beaty up and
fighting that a lot of the other shows do. I would agree the background
music is a bit loud. Keep it on the lineup of shows.
I too am glad that CSI New York is renewing and would like to see Stella return. Am glad that Mac is starting to be “smart” again and give direction to the team. I believe it hurt the show when you took those “duties” away from him. I am glad you are tired of making him look dumb. VM
Damn happy csi ny will continue!!! Mac Taylor is top!!! Would love to see Stella pop back in the mix too!!!!
