This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
This Summer would be a whole lot better if I could watch Dallas again.
Hmmm Labor Day weekend would be nice for some Dallas reruns. Better yet, it would be great to hear news of Dallas’s return.
It would be great if Dallas would return. One of the greatest shows that ever was.
So many channels and nothing worth watching. TV has created this. But we all know it’s controlled by advertising. I say advertising has gotten too picky. They want to zero in on the retards who can’t keep their money in their wallet. Great shows like Dallas doesn’t get them that. Sad.
Yeah, they’re probably afraid to run Dallas reruns because it would top the 1st run shows in ratings. Proving what flakes these programmers are.
Summer reruns of bad TV. It would be so very nice to see even a Dallas rerun. That would probably win the ratings over what’s on now.
If Dallas were to return…I’d prefer a channel without commercials. It was getting so you’d lose track while watching. Imagine a Dallas return without commercials. I know…dream on…
All that advertisers want to sponser is the garbage shows. Have they no pride? Please bring back a quality show. Bring back Dallas.
Dallas was so good. I just can’t fathom why they don’t renew it. It would do a lot better than the stuff they have on now.
Make no mistake, TV isn’t what it used to be. Apparently those good old days are gone. And gone with them are the best shows that ever was. Now we get…well just look at the list or try to find something decent. Incredibly slim pickings. Bringing back Dallas would be a good start to reverse this awful trend in TV.
Is Hollywood not making it for TV anymore? Do advertisers have any choice in what they back? Is a computer making these decisions? Some degreed student of psychology? Somebody or someone is clearly doing a bad job with programming because what we have on TV is pure garbage. And these are the people who cancelled Dallas.
We miss Dallas. This was a show that had quality acting and great drama. If you want people to watch TV again, bring back Dallas.
Will the networks continue to be clueless about what we want to watch? Are game shows and other nonsense shows acceptable as prime time entertainment? Advertisers, you are throwing good money down the drain with these awful shows. Get real and put something on that’s really good. Like Dallas!
It sure would be nice to have Dallas back on TV. It was the best show on TV. It shouldn’t have been cancelled.
How on earth do these garbage shows stay on TV? Some are mildly amusing but most are dumb as a nail. Dallas was a shining star of a production. Something to be proud of. Not this awful crud being broadcast now. No human with any sense would prefer the shows that are on now to Dallas. It’s just not right. It really smells.
