After two seasons on the air, TNT has cancelled Dark Blue. No season three for Carter Shaw and his LAPD team.
Dark Blue stars Dylan McDermott as the leader of an undercover unit whose members are so covert that some of the members of the department don’t even know they’re involved. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green, Nicki Aycox, and Tricia Helfer.
The cancellation of the cop drama doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Despite a decline in ratings, the series was renewed for a second season last December. The second round of 10 episodes began airing in August and the numbers were worse than they’d been in year one.
Season two averaged a 0.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 2.25 million total viewers. Those figures make the series the worst performer of TNT’s summer season and ripe for cancellation.
Dark Blue ended its run with two episodes on September 15th.

Oh NO! I love that show and ruined everything with love interest that no need one and just tDylan and his trio.
I am very disappointed that Dark Blue was cancelled!!! It was riveting drama. The actors and the suspense were great. Admittedly, the second season sucked compared to the first season. Why did TNT have to go and add the stupid love interest for Carter? And those ridiculous attempts at comic relief! That’s why the ratings dropped the 2nd season. The writers ruined the show. What a waste!!!!
This is a shame…out of every show on TV, this was by far my favorite. Don’t blame it on the cast and writers, blame it on the marketing! I’m always seeing commercials for Southland, The Closer, and Leverage, but hardly ever for Dark Blue….it’s not hard to connect the dots. Even McDonalds still puts all kinds of cash into marketing, and who doesn’t know about the Golden Arches!!!!!

OMG!!! why cancel a fantastic show and they shouldn’t ended the 2nd season like that, its ridiculous. i think they should bring it back! because the viewers that do watch it shouldn’t miss out!!
I am so disappointed Dark Blue was cancelled. It was a fabulous show with great writing and acting. Maybe the show needed to have time to get an audience. The day and time I believe was changed which never helps a show. Why not bring it back and give it another chance. I know it has loyal watchers. I am so disappointed they canceled this show, it was intelligent and not stupid – great stories and superb acting what a shame we are stuck with stupid silly shows – like reality shows which dont stimulate the mind – shame!
I agree with most of the posts. Dark Blue was great! I think they should have tried harder to keep it on the air. It was a cast of wonderful actors. Seems like there was never really a finale to the show; it was just an end to the season and not the series. Most of the good shows get cancelled and the crap stays on air.
I can’t believe they have cancelled Dark Blue. This is unreal. I loved that show. It’s getting to the point that I hate to start watching any of the new shows, seems like every one that I REALLY LIKE, they cancel…..

Dark Blue was a great show full of suspense and drama, there aren’t many quality shows out there and this was one of them I hate to see it go!
I am very disappointed that Dark Blue was canceled, it is an outrage. That was one of th best drama’s around, and some the hardest working people. All I can say is WOW!!!
This sucks one of the best police shows after The Shield was done. Maybe they should have tried a different day or time slot before canceling it. I believe it could have made it if they really wanted it to.
I can’t believe they cancelled the show!! I loved Dark Blue and couldn’t wait for the new season to come out. I loved the characters who showed exactly how hard it is to be an undercover cop and how much temptation there is in that kind of life style. Please bring it back!!
