After two seasons on the air, TNT has cancelled Dark Blue. No season three for Carter Shaw and his LAPD team.
Dark Blue stars Dylan McDermott as the leader of an undercover unit whose members are so covert that some of the members of the department don’t even know they’re involved. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green, Nicki Aycox, and Tricia Helfer.
The cancellation of the cop drama doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Despite a decline in ratings, the series was renewed for a second season last December. The second round of 10 episodes began airing in August and the numbers were worse than they’d been in year one.
Season two averaged a 0.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 2.25 million total viewers. Those figures make the series the worst performer of TNT’s summer season and ripe for cancellation.
Dark Blue ended its run with two episodes on September 15th.

I agree with jan. I’m sick and tired of trashy reality TV and shows labeled science fiction but are just as well as if you drop the first word. Although there are too many cop shows on TV, Dark Blue is in its league of its own. It’s the only one that can actually make you think,”Can they get the bad guys?”.
TNT Please Bring Dark Blue Back! That show kicked a$$!
I was looking forward to the return of this show and I am so disappointed to hear it is not returning. I see it did not fare well with the 18-49 year olds. Well.\, there is another age demographic out there. It’s called baby boomers and we out number the 18-49 group. Please hear us. This was a good show.
TNT needs to reconsider cancelling Dark Blue. It was one of the best shows on television. Great cast and my husband and I looked forward to watching every week. Surely someone will pick it up….I am shocked…..
my favorite show, and tnt is gonna cancel it. sucks, they made a huge mistake atleast keep it going for the fans iam sure tnt still made quite a bit of money off of it. i thought every episode left me happy and never disapointed..
I wish TNT would reconsider and bring it back.I really enjoyed the show.It was a true escape from my day to day life.
You know I wish producers would get feedback from viewers before they cut shows rather than after the show is cancelled.. I really liked the show I looked the show up on the internet to see when the new season would begin only to find out the show was cancelled. It was an awesome show, a breath of fresh air from all the reality shows that are on several tv stations. I hope someone would reconsider bringing the show back.
I’m sooo mad about this I’ve been waiting and waiting for a new season canceled ??? this show was good seriously and if ratings were down its not because of the show its self intense with a capital I I loved it

I loved that show. My wife n I thought it was the best cop show in a long time. Watched it faithfully. This sucks! Hope someone else picks it up

My wife and I loved the series. Didn’t care for the sudden input of red hot sex scenes, which we assumed were put there to hold the interest of the 18-49 demographics but apparently didn’t! Sorry it was canceled.
OMG please tell me it isn’t so….Why? I love that show and was waiting for it to come back on.
We are big fans of Dark Blue. If Season 2 ratings went down, it was because of the “partnership” with the FBI that was forced on Carter and his team. We say bring just the Season 1 crew back and let them do what they do best, w/out the distractions of Season 2!!!!
all we get in the uk is season 1 over and over OMG its about time you U.S tv show producers started thinking of us poor old brits, we dont even get to see the 2nd season xcept of the net. dark blue seems to be the most current series and certainly deserves more than just 2 seasons. its about time you producers started looking at THE BIGGER PICTURE outside of your limited perceptions IS a world of people looking for this type of prog rather than stupid crazy ass stuff like leaverage, castle , fringe, chuck do i need… Read more »
