Despite being the only soap opera to air new episodes throughout all of the 2019-20 season, Days of Our Lives remained the lowest-rated of the four remaining network soaps. As per usual, it seemed possible that it could be cancelled by the peacock network but NBC gave Days an early renewal in November 2019. However, some members of the cast have either been let go or have chosen to leave the series, in part because of cost-cutting measures. Will this venerable soap be renewed for season 57 for the 2021-22 broadcast season or, could this series really be in its final days this time? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Premiering on November 8th of 1965, Days of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. It revolves around the members of the Brady, Horton, and DiMera families — along with their friends, enemies, and lovers. Castmembers include Lucas Adams, Kristian Alfonso, Lamon Archey, Matthew Ashford, Camila Banus, Nadia Bjorlin, Mary Beth Evans, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Jay Kenneth Johnson, Lauren Koslow, Eric Martsolf, Marci Miller, Stephen Nichols, Melissa Reeves, James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Sal Stowers, Alison Sweeney, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer, Robert Scott Wilson, and Arianne Zucker.

I love GH I have been watching for over fifty years. Best soap on tv I would say better
than prime time. You can escape the pandemic no masks, people touch and the stories
are better than ever! Big mistake If GH is canceled.
I have watched DOOL for the most part since it started. I loved the characters. When the paranormal stuff began I lost interest but always came back. But things really started changing the last couple of years. Stories were inane. More paranormal, more people in jails in totally unrealistic scenes where criminals ruled the jail’s visitors. Most every child born was switched or kidnapped. Lani never smiles. So many young women look so much alike and most everyone flits in and out of each other’s beds so often that I don’t even care. Yes always keep DOOL! Been a fan for 54 years! Keep older actors n let Gabby go! Keep Kayla, Hope, Maggie, etc!!! Keep coming through the sands of time!!!!
I am watching Days since 1996. I really cant imagine that we watched the last episode especially after all the suspence of Will, Theo, Hope and Rave…. I am very disappointed.
Days has to stay, i love it…the writter has to pick up. Things are too dam drawn out. When they got your attention and everything is going good, they take someone off and screw everything up. Mayb ask people what they might like. Like Eric and nichole..u took him off while most enjoyed the story line and they were gonna adopt Alleys baby. Something may have gotten in the way for a bit, living things up.. but they move to many people around, coming and going. Keep DOL going, but get some new writers. I have been a fan for 50 years and would really miss watching the show every day.
Days of Our Lives should be canceled! I have been watching it from day one. It has lost it’s luster
