James Van Der Beek is headed to VICELAND. Deadline reports the network has ordered a new TV series from the Dawson’s Creek star called What Would Diplo Do?.
Written by Van Der Beek, the comedy will also star the actor as “a fictional version of DJ superstar Diplo in a collection of parables about life as told through the eyes of guy who can bring 60,000 people to their feet… but kind of sucks one-on-one.” This is VICELAND’s first foray into scripted comedy.
Van Der Beek will executive produce the show alongside the real Diplo. VICELAND has already ordered six episodes of What Would Diplo Do? (working title). The idea stems from an online concert promo, which starred Van Der Beek as the famous DJ.

To be honest, IM SCARED AS TO WHAT DIPLO WOULD DO! ;-P That man is bananas, talented, but bananas… I hate Vice because of its slanted journalism… I don’t like it slanted left, I don’t like it slanted right… But I might make an excemption of my Vice/Viceland ban to watch this series.
