Grimm has done very well for NBC on Friday nights and is one of their highest-rated dramas. How has Dracula been performing? Is it safe or likely to be cancelled?
Based on the classic Bram Stoker story, Dracula takes place in London. The title character (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) poses as an American entrepreneur while he seeks revenge on those who cursed him. He doesn’t count on falling in love with a woman (Jessica De Gouw) who looks like his deceased wife. Others in the cast include Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Smurfit, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.
The series debuted on October 25th to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.26 million viewers. This was a very respectable performance for a Friday airing.
Unfortunately, the ratings took a big dive in week two and then again in week three, falling to a 0.9 rating with 2.96 million.

After seven episodes, Dracula is now averaging a 1.1 in the demo and 3.46 million viewers. Unless the next few episodes see a good-size gain, the averages will keep dropping.
With ratings like these, it would seem unlikely that NBC would want to order a second season. However, the network has partnered with Sky Living on the series, decreasing their costs. Dracula started airing in the UK on Sky Living last Halloween.
It’s also worth noting that NBC renewed Hannibal last spring and that show drew even worse numbers on Thursdays.
So, essentially, Dracula’s fate could go either way. We’ll have to wait and see whether it will be cancelled or renewed for a second season.
But, what do you think? Do you like Dracula? Do you think it should be renewed or cancelled?
This series is the best Dracula yet. Better than any movie or Dracula type series. It deserves a better time slot/day and a chance to be seen. It’s very good.
Please do not cancel Dracula – I love d it!!
Come on NBC you guys are killing me. Everytime I get into a series worth looking at you get rid of it. Keep this one. I’ve been waiting for the next season. Please don’t cxl it, give it a chance. You give all these stupid comedy shows on that should not have every been put on TV. Grown up like to watch TV too you know.
Dracula should be given another chance. I think the story line is great. The actors, and
actresses are superb! The settings are great, costumes are great, and I think as long as
the writers can continue a really good storyline and good tv advertising, it will catch on
to more viewers.
My husband and I love this show
I’ve been hooked from start to finish plus JRM is well fit as dracula. Eagerly
Awaiting season 2!
It is like many other remade TV shows and this is good. It is a way of younger ones watching old movies (remade). The new versions of older movies have great twists to them. After all younger ones are really not going to watch the older classical movies. It needs to keep going
Plz don’t cancel Dracula. One of my favorites
Keep the show its honestly one of the best I’ve seen in a very long time I never lost interest at all! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
I think it is a totally cool and different series. It should continue another season!! Great show!!
I just read a few comments that Dracula is a big hit in other countries & I’m wondering where I can see it if it does get renewed – will it still be on NBC?
Of course it should have another Season. Season 2 would be even better. Season 1 laid the ground work for the next. BRING IT BACK
Like so many other viewers I want to see the return of Dracula for a second season and beyond!
I love Jonathan Rhys Meyers !! I Love DRACULA !!!!!! I hope a season 2 it’s coming up!!!! Please renew it !!!
Please do not cancel this show, I LOVE IT!!!
