TV show description:
This horror/thriller series is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. It takes place in the late 19th century.
The mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has arrived in London and is posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.
He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night — a useful concept for someone who must avoid sunlight. He is aided by his loyal confidant, R.M. Renfield (Nonso Anozie).
Dracula has another reason for his travels however. He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw), a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Episode #10 — “Let There Be Light”
At long last, American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson executed a public demonstration of his miraculous electromagnetic resonator device, which promises to provide free, wireless electricity to all of London.
The demonstration was postponed after a previous attempt only a fortnight ago reportedly poisoned the surrounding neighborhood, causing children and elderly residents to become ill. Mr. Grayson insists that the poisoning was the result of sabotage, most likely by his rivals at the United Imperial Lubricant Company, although Scotland Yard has yet to find any evidence to support the claims.
This weekend’s demonstration, the second such attempt for Mr. Grayson, was to be his magnum opus, the result of years – possibly even decades – of research and construction that would revolutionize the world as we know it and put his oil industry rivals out of business entirely. What began as a day of triumph and victory ended as one of the most tragic and destructive days in London’s recent history.
At approximately 6:22 in the evening, moments after Grayson fired up his resonator to shed miraculous, wireless light on the entire district, the machine suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Grayson and his engineering team went to great lengths to evacuate the area as quickly as possible, and indeed the brave men spared many lives by doing so.
However, only five minutes after the machine was activated, a mechanical malfunction led to the largest manmade explosion in British history, centered directly in the heart of downtown London. The damage was catastrophic. At least a dozen people were killed in the explosion, and, while the numbers are still being tallied, estimates predict the number of injured persons to be in the hundreds, possibly even into the thousands.
Miraculously (and despite being in the belly of the beast itself during the explosion), Mr. Grayson managed to escape relatively unscathed, save for a few bumps and bruises. He is currently exiled in Carfax Manor and refusing to speak to the press, other than to briefly announce that he suspects foul play and sabotage to be the cause of the malfunction.
As London continues to recover from the horrific tragedy, hundreds remain missing. Most notably, Mr. Browning, a prominent member of British high society, has not been seen since the day of the explosion, despite the fact that Mr. Browning was not on site when the accident occurred. Miss Lady Jayne Wetherby is also unaccounted for, and she was last scene hailing a carriage toward the demonstration, only moments before the explosion. Also missing is Mr. Grayson’s right-hand man, Mr. Renfield, who was last seen returning to Carfax Manor on the day of the demonstration.

What do you think? Do you like the Dracula TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I’m very disappointed this show was cancelled. I enjoyed it very much and would have at least liked it if they’d ended it. What a shame it was an awesome show!
Why do u all cancel every good TV show??? This show was awesome. I have been waiting on TV to say when the new season was going to start and just saw where it had been cancelled. I want to know WHY????
This show is awesome. I have watched every episode at least twice. They need to get it back on air. I love Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Dracula. It was such an entertaining show. Please bring it back
The stories, charachters and costumes are wonderful. I can’t get enough of this show. I would love to see it come back!
I can’t believe this has been cancelled! I watched every episode on the edge of my seat. Finally a paranormal series not based in high school dramaville! As a teen I enjoyed Buffy. As a young adult I enjoyed Angel. Now, as a full time employed mother of four I do not get much free time. This was a show worth putting the kids to bed early for. Very disappointed NBC.
It’s a shame that those who hold the power to cancel or renew a series, really have no clue what the average person is watching. Yet another great show cancelled before it’s time.
I loved this show…no one asked me if they could cancel it.
I hope that you bring Dracula back for another season. I watched every episode and enjoyed every one. I looked forward to seeing it every week.
I would like to know what TV executives use to determine how many people watch a particular show; again, another show is taken off of the air due to poor ratings…what poor ratings? From where? No one asked me what I watch; nor have any of my friends or family been asked…where do they get their numbers??? Yes, I liked Dracula, as another person pointed out, this was cancelled, but yet these stupid reality shows keep showing up…what is with that???
perhaps sy-fi network could pick it up. it is better than any of their home grown programs and they could probably get it cheap.
I have been looking forward to the new seaon, but just now found out there is not going to be one…yet they keep on the stupid shows…this one had it all for entertainment,,,shock, awe, anticipation, and edge of your seat drama….and it got cancelled….really disappointed
I am extremely enraged by the fact that this show was cancelled. I loved the show and thought it was perfectly planned out. The actors were amazing and the storyline was exquisite. If a show like this is going to be put on tv and then cancelled after a season, then that is totally unacceptable. Many different types of people watch tv and just because half of the people don’t like the show doesn’t mean that the other half stops liking it as well. People get hooked on shows that are phenomenal and then it’s taken off the air. What… Read more »
These people Do NOT realize what hit are and sleepers plus NOW the spin them in & out so fast MOST people don’t get to SEE them because this society is SO busy working-These execs are so afraid of LOSING money they FAIL to make it, Plus they only give shows 10 to 13 episodes people are creatures of habit WHY would they take a step out of their comfort zone for 13 episodes of a show they KNOW might get cancelled they need to go back to the old days when a show ran From August til kids get… Read more »
Bummer….just finding out it was cancelled…..I was looking to see when it came back on…UGH…..REALLY wish it was coming back!!!!
Come on you super tv moguls. Surely some one can see this is a hit. everything about the show was an ****** for the eyes. The lighting, the clothing ,the sets exudes decadence. Please do not let this slip through your fingers. Tru Blood is good. But this is a vampire class act. The cast on this superb, CLASS GRACE AND STEALTH IN THEIR MOVEMENTS. Sexy beyond sexy. Smoking hot. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I have been really hoping that Dracula would come back. I loved that show and felt it ended with too many questions.
