It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I think this is absurd. Eastwick is a fantastic show, and a breath of fresh air from all of the reality junk now-a-days. I’m really sad to see it go, but I guess it just shows a change in the times. Hopefully they wrap everything up before it’s officially done.

I love Eastwick. It’s not another crime drama. It’s fun and whimsical with a great cast. I also love Accidently on Purpose. Great writing and Jena Elfman – how can that not be a winner? It’s so sad that TV shows are not given the time to find their audience these days. I would like to know what the ratings are based upon. I used to know a guy who had one of the neilson ratings boxes on his TV several years ago. He thought it was funny to leave his TV tuned to shopping channels when he wasn’t home.… Read more »
This sucks i love this show its great for all those women out there with maybe troubling issues. And i saw the movie with Jack Nicklson hell i have the movie. Go a head cancle it be retarted have those millions and millions of ppl upset. At least i have the real movie.
I loved this show, it was different and the cast was great. The acting and writing was fantastic, so why could’nt they just put it in a different time slot? It didn’t get much promotion, a lot of my friends never knew about the show until I told them.
So shows like gossip girls and the hills stay on TV while one like Eastwick is cancelled? Come on give it another chance, please!

I love this show. I didnt even know they were thinking about canceling it untill just now. I thought my recorder didn’t record it last week for some reason i was so upset but now i am even more upset finding out they want to pull the show. please show the rest of the shows PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why ruin a good thing? You have to keep this show going. I for one like it.
My daughter and I love this show. We are sad to see it go. It is so refreshing and different from everything else on TV. Please at least show all the rest of the episodes for those of us who have really become fans. I agree not enough promotion was done for this show. We came across it accidentally on abc.com, then began watching on the regular night. The filming and the imagery of the town are amazingly well done. The acting is spot on and fun to watch. To bad all this talent won’t continue in this setting.
Whoopdeedoo, I’m sure it’ll be replaced with Ice Skating with B-List Stars or Cleaning Toilets with Porno Queens or House Full of Idiots with Cameras on 24/7 or something equally mind numbing. I’m so sick of reality tv. Who even wants to try to get involved in a show anymore when chances are that it will be canceled and 9 times out of 10 with no wrap episode so we at least get closure? You fail, ABC, you fail.
I don’t believe that enough promotion was done around the show. I accidentally found it one night on the on screen TV Guide when I was looking for something else. Let’s just say that is all it took to hook me – the name Eastwick. I am crazy for the genre and quite frankly, I still miss Charmed. So this was a great way to start the season. I am saddened that there is not a possibility of more shows. However, I am happy to see the rest of the episodes that were filmed.
I also love this show….I can’t wait for Wednesdays to get here. It was the same with Lipstick Jungle…..All these reality shows….who cares what this one wears or how they put their makeup on, or how they raise their kids, give us a reality break…..there reality is not mine. You really need to keep this show going…this truly sucks
I figured this was going to happen it always does. Does ABC realize that people are sick of it and maybe no longer want to even try to get involved with any new shows. Because when you do all you guys do is cancel the show. I think it truly stinks that this show is being cancelled. I absolutely love this show.
I love Eastwick, I was so bummed when I found out it wasn’t airing this week cause of the CMA’s. I didn’t even know it was going to be cancelled till today. I really hate that. I was so looking forward to this show. We need a new decent drama to watch. I like the other new shows that ABC had put out this season as well. I watch every show every year at-least once and do some reviews! I never really watch most more than once unless I actually like it and this was one of the best new shows. The women are good looking and the story lines keep me wanting to know what is going to happen next. I am very picky at what I live to watch so this is sad that most people did no give it chance. Usually if I like something it does not get canceled, I am pretty good a picking out what stays.
