Fans of Ugly Betty just got some (possibly) good news. ABC is moving the dramedy to Wednesday nights at 10pm. Unfortunately, that’s spells bad news for fans of cancelled Eastwick.
Eastwick has had a tough time of it and has never quite found a wide audience. The show and its cast — including Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, Jaime Ray Newman, Paul Gross, Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright — have become popular with a devout group of viewers but it’s just not big enough to keep the show on the air.
The show was effectively cancelled last month when ABC opted to not order any additional episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.
Eastwick executive producer, Maggie Friedman, said that this would mean that many show storylines would go unresolved. On the positive side though, it seemed like ABC was committed to airing all of the episodes.

Unfortunately, it now appears that ABC has decided to pull the show off the air before the run is completed. Ugly Betty will take over the Eastwick timeslot on January 6th, bumping the last two episodes of the supernatural series from the schedule.
For now, it seems that the network has no plans to air the final installments of Eastwick. If ABC history is any indication, fans may have to wait until the summer months to see them — ala Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If not, then they’ll be able to find them on DVD, if there is one.

Let’s face it, ABC you just suck! Let’s put another LOST show on (Flash Forward-wonder where they came up with that title) or more Grey related shows. And by the way-thank God LOST will be over-I’m so lost I’ve decided not to watch the last season-maybe they’ll pull the plug on that one too!!!
I thought Eastwick was great. It had the right amount of suspence, humor, and drama. Sad to see it go. I watched it weekly. I would like to have seen the last episodes. If Cougertown is an indication of what is considered a good program… we are all in trouble. The acting is poor and the humor very staged. I really wonder who is voting on these shows? I guess I will go back to reading in the evenings.
One more thought… tv is evidently becoming a wasteland. We will have to rely on dvd, foreign broadcast, written/digital media for anything remotely intelligent or interesting..
Well… all I can say about cancelling Eastwick is that if ABC relied upon public ratings, that must mean that for the most part, uneducated, unimaginative persons are the majority watching. This was a good show… great cast, and good writing. Such a shame. Hopefully another network will pick it up. Very similar to Medium, which was dumped by NBC, but fortunately picked up by CBS.
I tried to watch Ugly Betty tonite, and sorry for those who like it, but I just could tolerate it!
I really liked the show..I hope they at least air the last episodes so we have some conclusion to it…all the good shows get cancelled, leaving nothing but reality tv…that gets old!!!

I am with Kay……I loved Eastwick…such an interesting storyline with interesting characters…definitely not as “boring” as Ugly Betty and In the Middle……what is wrong with you, ABC? What a waste to can Eastwick and place Ugly Betty in its place. Really?
I hate ABC for pulling Eastwick out of the line-up. But they have no problem airing a show titled ” Conveyer Belt of Love”. WTF is that all about??!!! What a waste!
ABC is crazy for cancelling this show. Perhaps I will choose another network to watch! I loved Eastwick, and too hadn’t missed an episode since eagerly awaiting it’s premiere last fall. Is there any other network out there that could pick it up> PLEASE!
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW WE CAN WATCH THE REMAINING EPISODES THROUGH THE HALLMARK CHANNEL IN THE UK? IT SEEMS LIKE THEY LOCKED THAT AS WELL.
I have just heard that the ratings In the uk for eastwick on the hallmark channel made the top 5 for viewers surley they would want to keep this going? Calling all eastwick fans let’s keep hounding the networks showing this fantastic show
Terrible, absolutely terrible that the show got the axe in the first place. Now my wife and I find out they’re not even showing the last two episodes? I’m not a big fan of cable tv anymore and this is one of the many reasons why. There have been so many good shows over the last few years that are really good but tv executives can’t seem to get the concept of a good show anymore.
I can’t believe they didn’t even bother to try a new slot or a different time. Just terrible!
