TV show description:
After the unexpected death of his father, idealistic lawyer Nick George (Peter Krause) takes on his father’s longtime clients, the Darlings, an incredibly wealthy and powerful Upper East Side family.

Led by patriarch Patrick “Tripp” Darling (Donald Sutherland), family members frequently find themselves in trouble and Nick is left to clean up both the legal and illegal messes. Tripp is married to the beautiful Letitia (Jill Clayburgh) and they have five troubled adult children.

Patrick (William Baldwin) is a rising political star who’s having an affair with a transsexual. Karen (Natalie Zea) has been married three times and lost her virginity to Nick. Brian (Glenn Fitzgerald) is a whiny Episcopal priest who has an illegitimate child. Coke-addicted Jeremy (Seth Gabel) and his spoiled twin Juliet (Samaire Armstrong) make frequent use of the NYC nightlife.

At Nick’s home, his sensible wife Lisa (Zoe McLellan) takes care of their seven-year-old daughter Kiki. Lisa appreciates Nick’s huge salary but is well aware that her husband may be growing closer to his old flame Karen.

Tripp’s ruthless nemesis is self-made billionaire and philanthropist Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) who may have some information about the death of Nick’s father.

According to Jim, Cupid, Samantha Who?The ABC network has announced renewals for a dozen of their current series. It looks like America's Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Brothers & Sisters, Dancing With The Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Private Practice, Supernanny, Ugly Betty, and Wife Swap will all be back next season. None come as a big surprise since ABC is still doing pretty well enough in the ratings. The weakest among the renewed series are Wife Swap and Supernanny but they're relegated to Friday nights. Expectations are lower on that night and the shows are cheaper. Opportunity Knocks and Pushing Daisies: ABC TV Shows to Return

April 5, 2009
Two series are coming back to ABC -- one beloved and one essentially ignored. Regardless of how viewers feel about them, neither one are going back into production. The network is just burning off already shot episodes of Pushing Daisies and Opportunity Knocks. What about Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money? Pushing Daisies follows a lovable piemaker (Lee Pace) who can revive the deceased, his childhood sweetheart (Anna Friel), and his private eye partner (Chi McBride). Others in the cast include Ellen Greene, Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenoweth, Field Cate, Sean Lake, Sy Richardson, Stephen Root, and Sammi Hanratty, with narration by Jim Dale. The series ran for two abbreviated seasons. Based on low ratings, ABC opted not to order any additional episodes past the 22nd. Only 19 of them have aired. Opportunity Knocks is a reality game show that brings the competition to a family's front door. The series is hosted by J.D. Roth and produced by Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke, Todd A. Nelson, and Roth. The series wasn't a hit with viewers and ABC cancelled it after just three installments had aired.

Dirty Sexy Money: Baldwin Says TV Show Not Cancelled Yet

December 11, 2008
ABC's guilty pleasure, Dirty Sexy Money, has been struggling. This season, the TV show has been averaging just six million viewers. The network had ordered 13 episodes for year two with the option of purchasing additional installments. They decided against exercising that option but one of the series' stars says that it's not over yet. Dirty Sexy Money follows a lawyer (Peter Krause) who gets talked into representing the powerful Darling family; patriarch Tripp (Donald Sutherland), wife Letitia (Jill Clayburgh), and their five grown children -- politician Patrick (William Baldwin), promiscuous Karen (Natalie Zea), corrupt clergyman Brian (Glenn Fitzgerald), and party-loving twins Jeremy (Seth Gabel) and Juliet (Samaire Armstrong). Other performers include Blair Underwood, Zoe McLellan, Lucy Liu, Will Shadley, Laura Margolis, Bellamy Young, Candis Cayne, Shawn Michael Patrick, Chloe Moretz, Sheryl Lee, Andrea Smithson, and Daniel Cosgrove. The cast and crew have completed filming their 13th episode for the season and we're told it will include a bit of closure. Baldwin is optimistic that it won't be the series finale. In a statement reminiscent of Brooke Shields' overly optimistic comments about Lipstick Jungle, the actor says that the show isn't cancelled yet and is just "on the bubble."
