The drama follows eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Doctor Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) as they help solve crimes in modern-day New York. The cast also includes Aidan Quinn and Jon Michael Hill.
Given ratings alone, a renewal for Elementary looks uncertain. Currently, season five is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 4.975 million viewers — low numbers for CBS. However, despite the poor ratings, Deadline reports a season six renewal seems likely.
First, Elementary is completely owned by CBS, making a renewal easier and more profitable for the network. Additionally, the series has lucrative off-network and SVOD deals with WGN America and Hulu Plus that bring in “as much as $3 million total per episode.”

Renew! Love the show, but hate the sucky timeslot. Usually means that during football season I’m up until midnight. That is why the slump in ratings. No, I’m not going online and pay for broadcast network programming. Growing to hate CBS, but I still love the show.

Elementary is my favorite show and my husband’s favorite show. We like the intellectual thinking nature of the show. I was (am) a big Sherlock Holmes fan from the A. Conan Doyle stories and like this modern interpretation.

My husband and I look forward to watching this show. It is smart and quirky with a great cast of characters and fine actors. Please do NOT cancel it. We will watch on any night of the week.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank you, CBS! Now change the day from Sunday to a week day. Any day but Sunday! Not everyone watches football so if it is on after 11, people who work on Monday aren’t going to stay up. Thanks!
We love this program but hate that it is onSunday and frequently delayed because of football games running over scheduled time. Program is unique. Two leading characters are really great
