Freeform cancelled its freshman drama series Guilt and Dead of Summer, yet renewed Beyond for season two, which only beat out Guilt by a smidgen, and didn’t do as well in the ratings as Dead of Summer — at least in linear broadcasts. The difference? Upon its premiere, the former ABC Family also released the entire first season of Beyond online, on Demand, and on the Freeform app, where it performed well with its binge-loving, younger-skewing target audience. Now they’re trying the same approach for Famous In Love. Can this release model repeat its success? Will Famous In Love be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.

A TV series adaptation of the Rebecca Serle novel, the Famous In Love TV show stars Bella Thorne, Carter Jenkins, Charlie Depew, Georgie Flores, Niki Koss, Pepi Sonuga, Keith Powers, and Perrey Reeves. The Freeform drama series centers on Paige Townsen (Thorne). Upon auditioning for Locked, an upcoming Hollywood blockbuster, Paige lands her first big break. Now, she has to acclimate herself to her newfound fame and all it entails, while still staying on top of her college studies. As her star rises, Paige can’t ignore the chemistry she’s developing with co-star Rainer Devon (Jenkins). Meanwhile, pop star Tangey Turner (Sonuga) has disappeared from sight. What happened to her, and why, remains to be seen. Paige needs to figure out the truth.
