Doctor Henry Morgan may be immortal but his TV show isn’t. ABC has cancelled the Forever TV series after one season of 22 episodes.
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner (Ioan Gruffudd) can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out the how or the why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series debuted last September to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.26 million viewers. The ratings grew for episode two but they started falling after that.
Though the Forever series had some very passionate fans, that devotion didn’t translate into positive ratings. The numbers were pretty poor for much of the season and the show ended up averaging a 1.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.93 million viewers.
As a result, ABC has decided against ordering a second season of Forever. The last episode aired earlier this week and unfortunately left viewers with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Did you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on with a larger audience?
are you crazy guys why, the show is super great i loved that show i love every second of that show and i enjoyed it ABC please don’t cancel it pleaaaaaaaaase
I can’t believe Forever was canceled. We love this show! Darn!
I am really upset to see that Forever was cancelled. This show had great quality and kept you interested because of the underlying questions. At the vary least there needs to be another episode where Henry tells Jo his secret. This was a bad call for ABC.
I really liked watching the show. It was actually a great tv show on Tuesday nights and I’m really sad they ended the show now, with so many thing that could still happen! Also I was hoping Herny would have told Jo about his secret long before the end. I say give it the Monday night 9 pm time slot and have a episode every week and not ever other like they did toward the end. That would help its ratings. It is a lot better then the show just about to start in that Monday night 9pm time slot.… Read more »

I just found out today that Forever was cancelled , I have loved this show from the pilot & was excited each week to see the next episode. I DVR everything I watch & this is the only show I watch the same night it is aired. The season finale was great & I could hardly wait until next season to see Henry tell Jo his secret. What can we do to get it back for a second season, there was so much plot development left…so sad.
It is nonsense to get rid of one of the few good shows that they had recently created. Maybe if they did NOT have it on at a 10 pm time slot they would have gotten more viewers!
Every time I really like a show, this happens! I could care less about the Bachelor or bachelorette. The last episode was truly awesome! Please someone pick up the show.
I think ABC made a big mistake cancelling Forever. I was kind of hoping for a Castle/Forever crossover, oh well. Hopefully, USA or TBS or even the CW picks up Forever & it gets a second season it deserves. It had quality, a tone & a spirit you don’t see on a lot of shows.
I liked it. I just had a hard time staying up late to watch it. It would be nice to see it come back . So many questions!
I really liked the show and really disappointed that it has been cancelled, at least they could have given it some type of conclusion
Loved the show. I wish it was not cancelled. thought it was well written and enjoyed the series
The major reason that i believe the show was cancelled was the strong opposition of CBS’ long running favorite PERSON OF INTEREST, which has aired for many years. maybe it would have succeeded in another time slot. i recorded both shows and greatly enjoyed the inventive scripts and anomalies caused by eternal life.
From the network which proudly airs THE BCACHELOR and THE BACELORETTE I do not find this surprising.
I really hope you guys read these comments and see that people are voting this as the top missed show and that people are fighting to keep this show or get it picked up by someone else. It has everything in a great show: story, characters, and originality.
