TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
This sucks I loved forever !! It was something different and was Avery good show bring it back !!!!!
Direction from the top,
“Never allow a quality show to proceed!” Keep the masses drunk on legends of poorly talented loons who think they can either sing, dance are cook. Well written scripts are not tolerated and even if we are making money it is never enough because “we want it all”.
Oh my! Funny how many of the stunts were purposefully cheese. that is clearly not where “Forever” was trying to shine. It was in the writing and shine they did. I never ever write reviews on tv shows anywhere ever. This cancellation is very disappointing to me and moved me to post in support. I sure do hope they are able to find another outlet for this show.
Waaaaaaayyyy i hate abc i love thise serie i dont belive
I am so upset that ABC cancelled ‘Forever!’ This is a BIG mistake! But let’s have two bachelorettes and keep that show on the air. STUPID!
ABC hasn’t leaved up to it’s potential since ABC, CBS and NBC were the only three networks to turn on a favorite tv show! Forever was a class act, bring it back!
C’mon! Why would someone want to cancel this show? It is one of the better ones out there! Get a grip. Cancelling this show is not a good decision. It is obviously picking up momentum and drawing a large following.
I am fed up with those who are making the decisions to cancel shows. Forever had brilliant writers who kept it clean with no vowl languange or sex and gave a wonderful flashback history lessons which i thought was great and reminds me of shows like “Bones” which also teaches you things. I loved the beginning where Henry would make a short synopsis about life and I actually started to write them down in my journals. It was very spiritual. I love all the actors and the role of Henry is perfect with his accent. BRAVO. The morons making the… Read more »
I hope someone like Netflix or Amazon pick this up.
It is sad that in the “vast wasteland” of network TV shows that a gem like Forever would be discarded. The show has so much going for it; diverse cast, great story line, intelligence (something lacking in many network shows today); great actors (and acting). I keep coming back week after week and look forward to the next episode. I can’t believe that someone decided to cancel this show but then again so much happening in the world these days doesn’t make sense.
Sorry to hear Forever is cancelled. Enjoyed the show.
I finally started watching network TV again, why would you cancel this amazing show? This is something I could watch without feeling violated with the normal onslaught of half naked people, even the violence was tasteful. What is wrong with you people?
No more comments about the idiots at ABC for canceling Forever. This is for all the fans. There is a “Save Forever” movement going on right now. Find it on Facebook, and Twitter! Good Luck to all of us.
All of the fans on the FB page called ‘Forever (ABC) Fan Page are calling Netflix. The representives at Netflix are very nice and directing ask about what show you would like them to consider. Also, a lot of the representatives have said that the call volume for the show ‘Forever’ to be picked up by Netflix has been overwhelming. And all of those suggestions are being sent to the programming department. So please, everyone, call Netflix and talk to a customer service agent. Tell them you want Forever on Netflix…

This show was one of few I never missed I hope they fine another network that listens to the fans!
I was so very disappointed to hear “Forever” was being cancelled after only one season. Ioan Gruffudd has always been one of my favorite actors since I first saw him in “Horatio Hornblower” on A&E. Why is ABC canceling one of the few truly entertaining and intelligent series on tv today. I wish they would cancel some of the mindless reality shows instead and reconsider giving this show another shot. The ensemble cast works quite well together which is a key ingredient in addition to good writing for an entertains show. Please reconsider ABC and bring “Forever” back.
“Forever” is an entertaining not an entertains show. Sorry for the inadvertent error. In any case, bring back “Forever”!
I hope people continue putting their comments in about keeping Forever on. I agree with what so many of you are saying. This was a clean, well written drama and incredible actors!!! Such few shows are left to watch. I’m thankful they didn’t cancel Castle. I do hope people keep on and they will hear what we have to say! They did not give this show a chance!!! Or please another network out there pick it up!!!!!!!
