Game of Thrones will not have a return appearance by Freddie Stroma during season seven. The actor revealed that at the TCA’s earlier this week.
Stroma appeared on one episode of season six of the HBO series as the brother of Samwell Tarley. He would have returned for another appearance, but he was busy filming Time after Time, which will premiere on ABC this spring.
He said the following, per IGN:
“I was shooting this, so my character, I wouldn’t be able to go back now. It was still fun. I got to be in that world. I’ve watched all of it. It’s just an incredible TV show.”
The character was recast. Tom Hopper is now playing the brother of Samwell Tarley.
