Tonight marks the season finale of Gang Related on FOX. It’s been a season of twists and turns but have the ratings been strong enough for the show to be renewed for a second season — or will it be cancelled instead?
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.
The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers. That was a poor showing right out of the gate and, over the course of the season, the ratings have gotten even worse. Last week’s episode installment hit a new low with a 0.6 demo rating and just 2.01 million viewers.
The season’s averaged a 0.8 rating with 2.56 million. Compared to the network’s other summer shows, Gang Related is performing well behind MasterChef, 24, Hotel Hell, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Though expectations are lower for summer series, it’s highly unlikely that FOX will want to renew Gang Related for a second season. The ratings are just too low — and they’ve essentially been getting worse week after week. More than likely, the execs will roll the dice and try a new program next year.

Show was absolutely phenomenal by fox and cable standards. Can easily be a show on a premium cable outlet. Really worried that the low ratings will lead to the show being Cancelled despite an amazing ending with alot to look forward to in the next seasom. I feel the show could be marketed so much better!
End of the day, we are in the era of social media. We gotta be more vocal online and spread the word about the show to hopefully get this great show another season. If not fox, hopefully someone else will pick it up!
This show is the best show on TV right now. I feel very guilty that I no longer watch shows live anymore due to the dvr and wanting to skip commercials. I love this show and all of the characters. Please bring it back for another season. People are watching.
I’ve made it very clear how I feel about Gang-Related — I’ve followed the program’s Facebook page, and have commented man, times. I’m addicted to it, and have excitedly looked forward to it each week … and THEN, it occurred to me that my husband (Yes ~ He loves the show, too) and I could be in for an all-too-familiar experience: Really liking a program, and having it cancelled in this time where programs are given no more than about five minutes to attract an enormous audience. We love this show! It has to be renewed! I believe it should have been marketed better. I only seen a couple of commercials pushing the show.
Please renew this show. My husband and I have been watching this together all season. There are more stories left to tell. Maybe you could promote it better. We found it by accident, and we’re grateful we did.
We saw no promotion or cast visits to any of the talk shows. The cast is excellent.
Do the right thing, renew it and promote it.

Renew the show! It was my new Southland since that got cancelled! The ratings will go us I just takes a while! This was an unbelievable show that go my family and I hyped every Thursday! We want to know what will happen next!!!

Really like this series! I don’t watch dancing with the stars or master chefs. Show tells it like it really is! Please renew a second season!
The show was great and just kept getting better! But like all good tv series seems to get over looked by the dumbed down viewers that can not comprehend a show that you have to think about while viewing to really get it. Master Chef lol what a joke! Shows the people watching tv are about the same caliber as those whom feel our political system is all good.
