Tonight marks the season finale of Gang Related on FOX. It’s been a season of twists and turns but have the ratings been strong enough for the show to be renewed for a second season — or will it be cancelled instead?
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.
The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers. That was a poor showing right out of the gate and, over the course of the season, the ratings have gotten even worse. Last week’s episode installment hit a new low with a 0.6 demo rating and just 2.01 million viewers.
The season’s averaged a 0.8 rating with 2.56 million. Compared to the network’s other summer shows, Gang Related is performing well behind MasterChef, 24, Hotel Hell, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Though expectations are lower for summer series, it’s highly unlikely that FOX will want to renew Gang Related for a second season. The ratings are just too low — and they’ve essentially been getting worse week after week. More than likely, the execs will roll the dice and try a new program next year.

OMG…do not cancel Gang Related! By far the best show on tv right now! If it weren’t for Gang Related my tv watching this summer would have been filled with mindless reality tv! We, like everyone else in America DVR our favorite shows and watch them when the kids are in bed so we can watch uninterrupted…please don’t rely on stupid ratings for the night, this show, this cast, this story line is amazing! By far my favorite show on tv
DO NOT cancel this show!!! It is clearly the best new show of the Summer. It is an excellent replacement for Breaking Bad fans. Please renew for a second season.
Don’t cancel this show. It’s the best thing on. I would definitely be outraged if we loose it. We live in a day when we watch things in our own time. I mostly watched on HULU, but I loved every second of this show.
Great show. Please renew for next season. We have to see how Ryan Lopez becomes a total good guy!
Hill Street Blue and Everyone Loves Raymond struggled their first season.
Gang Related is a show that deserves another season to see if it can resonate with the audience. Surprisingly, I connected and hope it will be brought back for another run.
If not sell it to TNT and let them make a hit out of it.

The show gang related is awesome its unlike any other cop type show. It seems like most cop shows theres a killing then they find the murderer. Every episode I watch every week keeps me comming back for more. I hope there is a season two if it were up to me I would renew it. Im tired of investing in shows and then they get cancelled. If that keeps happening Im just going to quit watching tv until I know it wont be cancelled.
All I have to say is I’m ready for a Season 2!

This show should definitely be renewed! Never missed an episode. I would be really disappointed if it wasn’t back for season two.
