TV show description:
This cop drama follows the LAPD’s multi-agency Gang Task Force as they take on the city’s most dangerous gangs.
Detective Ryan Lopez (Ramon Rodriguez) is a rising star in the force but he has a secret. He lost his father at an early age and was taken in and raised by the Acosta family. Before he became a cop, Ryan pledged his allegiance to a different band of brothers –- the powerful Latino gang called Los Angelicos.
When Ryan’s best friend and police partner is senselessly killed by a notorious gang member, Ryan teams up with Task Force member and DEA Agent Cassius Green (RZA). He’s been at the forefront of the city’s war on organized crime for a long time.
Despite his devotion to his job, Ryan is still beholden to the crime family’s leader, Javier Acosta (Cliff Curtis). He’s the father figure that Ryan has tried to make proud his entire life — and the man who masterminded his entry into the police force.
Ryan’s secret has been held for a decade by Ryan, Javier, and Javier’s sons; cold-blooded gang lieutenant Carlos (Rey Gallegos) and straight-laced investment banker Daniel (Jay Hernandez), Ryan’s childhood best friend.
But Ryan is starting to realize that he is even more dedicated to being a cop than he is to Los Angelicos. He is respected by his team, including FBI Agent Tae Kim (Sung Kang), ICE Agent Vanessa “Vee” Hicks (Inbar Lavi) and the task force leader, Sam Chapel (Terry O’Quinn).
Chapel is Ryan’s other surrogate father figure. His estranged daughter, Jessica (Shantel VanSanten), is the city’s Assistant District Attorney.
Episode #13 — Malandros
Daniel uses his wedding to finalize a deal between Javier and Lavar Quintel. Chapel leads his team into Mexico to find murder suspect Matias. Chapen and Ryan learn that Javier ordered the hit on Jessica. Ryan has Javier transferred to the metas side of jail where he finds a “welcome party.”
First aired: August 14, 2014.
What do you think? Do you like the Gang Related TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Can’t believe fox is cancelling th his is a great show what’s wrong with you fox!!!
I absolutely think it should be renewed for a Second Season. I just started watching because half my office was talking about it and now you take it off AFTER i’m hooked. PLLLEEAAASE reconsider. I’m tired of all the reality tv crap out there. It was refreshing to have some good ole fashion acting / drama for a change.
I can’t believe Fox is cancelling this show! My husband and I loved this show – it was gritty, real, in your face….good drama by a great cast and writers! I hope Fox reconsiders this bad decision!
I loved this show!!! I always waited anxiously for the next episode. Thursday’s are never going to be the same again. Really, really hope another network picks it up.
I hate you, FOX!!! Bring back Gang related!!!
This is bull!! loved this show, my Thursday’s will never be the same.
That is SOooo disappointing!!
One of the best shows we’ve seen in a really long time!!
Can’t believe it is not going to return.
I can’t believe this! I have been anxiously waiting for the return of this show.
Please bring it back!!!!!
Every time people relate to a great show it gets cancelled. This show is close to the real deal. FOX should reconsider and at least do a second season. A lot of us relate to the show. I would guess there are more minorities watching this show !!!!!!!!
this was the only good show on thursday night and one of the few on Fox of merit
I don’t think they should have cancelled it they should bring it back on tv this a good show please bring it back on tv
FOX!!! FOX!!! FOX!!! What are you doing???? This was like the best show ever. I could not wait each week for the next episode. This show had twists and turns, and it kept me at the edge of my seat. Every character had a storyline. There was more that could have been shared with us about each character’s life; hence, that is why we need a second season. You could go in many directions with the plot of this show. There is plenty of material here. Gang Related is a winner in my book.
What in the world is wrong with people???? This was a great show and I found it 4 episodes into the run. I watched it and couldn’t wait for the next episode. I would even record it, so I would never miss another episode, all just in case I would be late getting home or somebody would stop by. Darn it!!! There were great actors, great acting, fantastic story line, unexpected twists and turns, and the expected always at least had a minor twist. Fox, your loss. Hopefully, somebody will realized what a really good show it was and pick… Read more »
This was the BEST show I had watch in a while,
how did they pulled the plug? Maybe because no one
voiced their opinion or maybe everybody recorded
the show instead of watching it live?(do not know it that matters)
We need to have another network pick it up and put it
in a time slot worthy enough of this show!
no more Sons of Anarchy for me, until Gang Related
comes back!
Man! Why cancel a good thing? I would play catch up with this show and anticipated its return after I saw the finale. Fox needs to reconsider this show. Especially since some of the actors were Hispanic!
