A staple of CBS’ Friday night schedule, ratings for Ghost Whisperer have dropped quite a bit over the season. Last week, the network surprised many viewers by cancelling the TV show after five seasons. The blow was softened when it was learned that the series might get a second chance on ABC. The alphabet network has now apparently passed.
Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ghost Whisperer began in September 2005 and ran for 107 episodes. The series’ regular cast has also included David Conrad, Christoph Sanders, Jamie Kennedy, Camryn Manheim, Aisha Tyler, and Jay Mohr.
Things had been looking positive for the series to continue and some outlets actually had even reported that the show had been picked up. Unfortunately, the deal didn’t work out.
We may never know the details but Ghost Whisperer executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander issued a statement that said, “After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved. We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.”
While it looks like Heroes and Law & Order will get some closure, there’s been no word on any plans to go back into production and wrap up Ghost Whisperer.

WTF CBS!?! You guys really dropped the ball on this one, Ghost Whisperer was the Highlight of Friday night. My Mom and I were thrilled when you picked up Medium, I thought it was the the best idea to pair it with Ghost Whisperer, it was like a paranormal night. Now you take it away and don’t even have enough respect for the fans to give us a proper series finale? Shame on you!!

Bring back this wonderful show! I don’t know what the hell you people are thinking everyone watches this show if you only open up your eyes you would be able to see what a wonderful show “Ghost Whisperer” is. This show has brought people together from my everyday life. They are inspired by the Cast that put this show into progress. Listen to the voice of your audience instead of yourself. “We want Ghost Whisperer back!!!”

Just goes to show that CBS and ABC don’t have any sense at all! You put stupid crap on week after week, show one or maybe two decent shows a week, then go and cancel one of the most popular shows. Ratings were down? Excuse me….I don’t see it. Based on all the comments I think they need to do a recount!
Ghost Whisperer was the best show on Friday nights. Heck…as I’ve said before, Ghost Whisperer was the only show I ever watched on CBS. Guess they lost my viewer ship!
I am so very disappointed that Ghost Whisperer is canceled. Please could they come back at the very least to do a 2 hour wrap-up. I think that everyone deseves that!! Please let the powers that be Create An Ending for this fantastic show. Please and Thank You, I hope

Sorry to see Ghost Whisperer cancelled. I know alot of people that watch GW, Medium, & Numbers every Friday night and they are very upset to see one of their favorite shows kicked off the line up. I hope CBS comes to their senses and brings back Ghost Whisperer! Honestly, what were they thinking? We call this pulling a Leno.

I loved ghost whisper it was a way for me and my mom to conect over all of the thirlles and spookes in the show. BRING GHOST WHISPER BACK. It is the coolest show next to house and i think that fox should pick it up
i really dont understand this ,even with the drop in viewers ghost whisperer gets more viewers than most of the **** they are airing.What i think is happening is these people making the choices are going with their own personal prefrences rather than the networks and the viewers.Why else would they mess around with the dates they air a show moving a show with good viewers to a timeslot they know doesnt get the ratings ,stinks to me like they want an excuse to get rid of it and stuff the viewing public they are only the ones who make… Read more »
