Can Samantha and Jay get a moment’s peace in the first season of the Ghosts TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Ghosts is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Ghosts here. *Status Update Below.
A CBS single-camera supernatural comedy series, the Ghosts TV show stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Rebecca Wisocky, Sheila Carrasco, Danielle Pinnock, Roman Zaragoza, and Devan Chandler Long. Freelance journalist Samantha (McIver) and Jay (Ambudkar), an up-and-coming chef, are a couple from the city. They throw caution (and their money) to the wind when they decide to convert a huge rundown country estate they inherited into a bed & breakfast. They discover the hitch is that it’s inhabited by many spirits of deceased residents. The departed souls are a close-knit, eclectic group but, if they were anxious about the commotion that a renovation and a B&B would create in their home, it’s nothing compared to what happens when they realize that Samantha is the first live person who can see and hear them.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Ghosts TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Do you think that Ghosts should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
*1/25/22 update: Ghosts has been renewed for a second season on CBS.
So far the show ‘Ghosts’ is funny and interesting. Hope the network keeps it on and does not cancel the show. Peace, Marc
The season for the british version of this show is always short, with only 6 episodes. So if this one gets picked up for a full season, I will look forward to it eclipsing the british version with a lot more story all in the same season. Waiting a year for only 6 episodes is complete absurdity.
It’s kept my interest. Hope they don’t cancel it too soon.
To early to tell. This will either be funny or a bomb. Right now I would say it going to be the first thing cancelled by channel 2.
This is a seriously dumbed down version of the highly rated British show. It rarely works when the US tries to remake a UK show.
Enjoying this one. Lighthearted, but I can almost see it moving towards a “Heart and Souls” direction where the living entity will have a chance to help the departed move forward. Lots of requests from the ghosts on how to help them is what is making me think this.
Sometimes a simply premise can make a show and this is one I am definitely enjoying after only the 1st 2 episodes.
Well going by the british version, after 12 episodes, none of them have moved on.
Having only watched the one episode, can’t really give an opinion yet.. however, will try another to see what happens.. which could lead to doing the same throughout.. LOL
I’ve only seen the first episode but I give it a 7 I think it’s funny
They need to bring back God Friended Me now.Dont care for this show at all.
My husband and I liked this show a lot. We think it will only get better as we get to know the characters. We will definitely be watching it again.
I enjoyed it and hope it stays.
It sucks. The “comedy” has been dumbed down and the gags are much more slapstick, as are the spoken jokes. Everything has been amped up to 11, like the shouting, the arguing, the flamboyancy of the gay character, all in service of beating the viewer over the head with “humor”. The acting is horrendous. There’s no chemistry between any of the characters, especially Jay and Sam, and it all feels too crammed-together and hastily written, despite being an hour-long pilot and despite relying on material hoisted from the BBC version. Even if I hadn’t seen the original, I’d have come… Read more »
You’re spot on!
I love the BBC “Ghosts!” However, this version just insults the viewers intelligence. Bad writing … it’s as if CBS took a great premise and attempted to tie it to an agenda. Thanks
I loved it. I usually DVR all the new shows because they cancel so many. Then I delete the canceled shows and don’t watch them. This time I don’t want to miss one episode!
Wonderful ! Best new show . Writing is refreshing , thank you .
It sucks. How on earth did it make it on the air? Cancel it. Now.
